Lucy Claw Nature Textiles Since she graduated in 2004 Lucy Claw has been putting her degree in Textile and Surface Design to great use as a freelance designer producing fashion and interior works which have been sold worldwide. Lucy is inspired by the urban world and her contemporary textiles begin life as sketches of her environment. She has developed her own unique style of embellishment which sees her applying glossy textures, beautiful appliqué and hand-embroidered stitching to her wool and cashmere designs. In her exclusive collections for TROWBRIDGE, Lucy draws upon the natural, classic shape of foliage in an aesthetically contemporary fashion. Her delicately appliquéd textiles, using a range of quality materials in calming shades are the next generation in fabric design. The finely crafted simplicity of her forms have a timeless appeal, with foliage that looks good in any season. Through her willingness to experiment and a personal flair, Lucy s effective combination of well-placed cuttings create a three dimensional aspect to each hand made piece with added bold style. Aviva Stanoff DESIGNER AVIVA Stanoff has collaborated with Martin Trowbridge to produce a series of unique framed textiles. Each textile is handdyed, etched and painted one at a time. No two are alike and each celebrates the botanicals that inspired them. Aviva Stanoff at work Aviva began her career in textile design focusing on fashion runway work for close to six years before she launched her current collection of home textiles. Her clients included top fashion houses in New York, London and Paris. Aviva's work is known for her combination of sophistication and subtlety. Each one-of-a-kind concept is hand-crafted with attention to design and detail as traditional embellishments meet cutting-edge textile treatments exclusive to her design studio. Most days you can find Aviva in her waterfront loft where she has a design studio in Brooklyn or in the flower markets of the city. Designs and compostions will vary with each batch of textiles that Aviva produces. Ankasa Ferns THIS STUNNING collection of hand-embroidered framed textiles has been designed by Ankasa exclusively for. This set of four ferns can be adapted to create a number of different configurations, with the intricate design hand-embroidered onto Tiffany blue linen. Ankasa'a collaboration with began in January 2008 with the launch of designs inspired by the natural world - this collection of eight intricate beaded textiles became instant best sellers. See page 174. The blue version of the design, featured on Carrie Bradshaw's bedroom wall, in the film Sex and the City 2. Ankasa has a successful background in the couture and ready to wear fashion world - clients include Oscar de la Renta, Escada and Vera Wang - and they have utilised many 'couture' finishing techniques in collections - they are embroidered by hand and the colour palettes used mirror what is presented on the fashion catwalk.
