For over 30 years, our 501(c)3 nonprofit has brought enrichment and superior art education to adults and children from throughout the Midwest and improved the quality of life in Polk County. In 2014, we served nearly 15,000 children and adults through our community outreach, special events, gallery visits, classes, and workshops. Did you know that it costs $60 to sponsor a child's education, $2000 to purchase supplies for our summer art camps or $7000 each year to maintain our two gallery spaces? Tuition fees only cover 30% of our costs. The rest must be raised through individual contributions, grants, sponsorships and memberships. Your membership supports our mission and you ll receive benefits in return. An individual membership of $30 makes you eligible for 20% discount on all classes, special rates on workshops, our monthly e-newsletter, exhibit in our yearly member s exhibit, and receive early invitations to special events. Members contributing $100 or more receive all these benefits and a gift from the Ankeny Art Center. All memberships are valid for one year from the date of sign up.

Kindergarten Fourth Grade Pottery Hand-building Children will produce creative clay projects by learning handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling, sculpture, and glazing. Adult Classes Pottery Basics Have you ever wanted to try the pottery wheel? This class will introduce you to the basics of throwing, and glazing. All materials are food and microwave safe. Autumn Color Sign up now for this one day watercolor workshop with, former Iowa Watercolor Society President, Jan Globuschutz. Bring your watercolor supplies and we provide the paper. For ages 14 and older with some painting experience. FEE $50 Member: $40 Saturday, One Day October 14 12:30pm-4:30pm Tribal Masks Learn new ways of using clay and make a tribal mask to hang on the wall inspired by other cultures and your own imagination. Use stenciling, slip trailing and new ways to apply glazes. In addition, students will learn how to decorate platters with carving and sculpted additions.
