Welcome to the US East Coast Activity 2013 Fast track to internationalization This year s activity takes us to the US East Coast, to the financial center of the world as well to the vibrant New England Venture Capital market. This is a unique opportunity to create working business relationships and gather knowledge about the US markets. Focus on start-up companies and international networking By showing a strong commitment from the Nordic region and present a combination of start-up companies and representatives from the leading Nordic early stage investors we are confident to lay the foundation for future business. During the visit selected promising Nordic start-ups will pitch to the venture capital community to create awareness about the Nordic start-up scene. Participating start-up companies Participating start-up companies will have started or are considering starting operations involving the US. The start-up companies will have a similar focus to create a homogeneous group to enable easy interaction with the US counterparts. The criteria for the attending companies are quality start-ups in the fields of: Internet/Media, Mobile/enabling technologies for mobile communication, Gaming and Man-machine interaction. The members of the Nordic-to-Global Initiative behind the US activity will select the participating start-up companies. As perhaps the entrepreneurial capital of the world from finance and fashion to marketing and media New York City has staked out a significant presence in this new entrepreneurial economy. The delegation will visit NASDAQ, meet with VCs, an investment bank, an incubator and entrepreneurs to get an overview of US and global trends and developments. Boston world class academia and premiere Venture Capital firms Boston is the home of the world renowned universities Harvard and MIT. The Nordic-to-Global Initiative Internationalization of young Nordic innovative companies The Nordic-to-Global Initiative is aimed at providing a fast track to internationalization to Nordic innovative companies by offering support, relations and insights and is organized by Nordic Innovation an institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers. The international activities, such as the US East Coast Activity 2013, is one of five tracks within the broad Nordic initiative to jointly develop the Nordic early stage market. Members of the initiative are the leading Nordic public early stage investors.
