TCT Asia provides attendees with a great platform to collect information, learn about the latest developments and market direction, understand the application of technologies and to gain further insight about the main problems faced by the industry. Attending the show allows businesses and individuals to learn about the technology and directly apply it to introduce innovation and improve the traditional manufacturing industry. Stratasys launched their F123 series at TCT Asia 2017. Highlights from TCT Asia 2017 Additive manufacturing (AM) in metals has been making the news for the last 12 months with seismic changes to the sector through the introduction of innovative new companies, processes, mergers and acquisition activity. TCT Asia 2017, which took place at the region s leading exhibition centre on 8-10 March, saw metal AM surge to the forefront with 13 new metals machines on show across the 10,000 sqm of exhibition space. Interest from Western metal AM companies was once again evident, with EOS, Concept Laser, Renishaw and SLM Solutions returning to the event, joined by first-time exhibitors for 2017 GE Additive and TRUMPF. TCT Summit Executive Keynote Delivers Global Insight Leading experts on 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing from China, US, UK, Germany, and South Korea addressed the challenges and development of AM in their respective countries. Todd Grimm, the CEO of T.A. Grimm & Associates, highlighted the issues relating to AM in their America Makes Plan. Axel Demmer, the Head of Strategic Research Department from Fraunhofer Institute Production Technology, touched on topics related to German Industry 4.0. Weidong Huang, professor from Northwestern Polythenical University and Huaming Wang, professor from BUAA delivered presentations about Metal Additive Manufacturing in China. Global challenges and niche markets were opened up to the audience for further insight. 1. Parallel Sessions From aerospace to digital dental and automotive to medical the TCT Asia Summit was delivered via six dedicated conference tracks. By streamlining the talks by area of expertise we were able to ensure attendees could access all the specific knowledge and information in relation to their chosen industry. If your interest was in aviation, you were able to join the sessions held by the German Aerospace Center and the China Academy of Space Technology. Alternatively,if your interest was in dental, you could access dedicated sessions including the discussion on materials for 3D printed implants and the current regulations imposed on the industry delivered by Peking University School of Stomatology. 2. Satellite Workshops Industry expert Graham Tromans and Chinese local researcher Kitty Wang from 3D Valley hosted the stage and shared their experience,industry knowledge and insight about the best way to choose the right solution for you using 3D printing. In addition, Stratasys, 3D Systems, Siemens, Materialise, and Farsoon all held specific workshops to have deeper conversations and discussions about their products and services with their customers. 3. 5
