Strength Machinery & ICT industry Flexibility of production Comprehensive & Commercial Production Industry Supply chain Aging Society Home Application Opportunity Primary Items Personal/Domestic and Health care Application Current Status Analysis About 154 manufacturers engaged in the development of the related components. In 2007, 34 manufacturers invested about NT$8.4 billion on the related robot development. Taiwan is the 2nd largest country to export cleaning robot (2007) Taiwan is the largest OEM country of entertainment robot products. Manufacturers are continuously engaged in the development of edutainment, security, cleaning and other personal robots, components and IC products. Production value is estimated to reach NT$84 billion in 2010. Current Status in Taiwan Industrial Robot Current Status Analysis For the past few years, FPD and IC industry leads the market demands of industrial robots. The export value of transportation robots were significantly increased in 2006 and 2007. Statistical data indicates that the market promotion of equipment made in Taiwan has excellent results, and the general technology level of local suppliers are improved quite a lot. In the past 5 years, China has become our largest export market as a result of manufacturing shift to Mainland China. The Top 5 Taiwan industries with the greatest demand for industrial robots are 1) Electronics, IT, and Opto Electronics, 2) Auto parts and Accessories, 3) Machinery and Metal Products, 4) Automobiles, and 5) Motorcycles

Current Status in Taiwan Robot Component suppliers in Taiwan 211 SMEs (manufacture/agency/retailer) the number of suppliers is still growing (79 enterprises are members of ROBOAT). Flexible and fast customer response are the features of Taiwan enterprises. Mainland China is our manufacturing base. Example: 69 companies can supply actuator components 121 companies can supply sensor components 44 companies can supply navigation or guidance components 30 companies can supply voice components Current Status in Taiwan Results of Intelligent Robot Technology Development Program New Growth Engine in Taiwan Intelligent Robot
