Augmented Reality? Augmented reality (AR) is the next new mass medium which will rapidly grow in the near future. AR mixes digital reality and the physical, real-world environment in a breath-taking way. With AR it is possible to display informative, entertaining or other virtual content in a physical reality. The AR application, which you need to download to your phone or tablet, starts when the camera reacts to a marker, a reference picture. The marker can be a printed QRcode, a logo, or even an object from the real environment. The digital content is added to the real world on your screen as if it would be there for real. Product placing AR The aim is to help the viewer to make the buying decision. Augmented reality enhances product previews. AR can be used as an aid in selecting different products from a catalogue. Products can be luxury items, furniture, rims for car tires, watches, electronics, or anything what the viewer wants to see, try out and compare in the desired, real environment free of charge. The viewer can evaluate the 3D modelled products from every angle as the products would physically be there. The marker can be a ticket, receipt, magazine, poster, beverage can, any packaging of a product.
