Introduction Aladdin is committed to providing a new and enhanced range of SafeWord and other Authentication solutions, with superior support services. Now integrated into Aladdin s partner/customer portal, partners and customers can enjoy smooth activation of SafeWord products. To ensure a seamless transition for current SafeWord customers and ease of activation for new SafeWord customers, we have provided this step by step guide to describe how to activate your SafeWord products. The activation process is an integral part of SafeWord deployment. SafeWord customers are advised to update their activations in order to benefit from the extensive range of services that Aladdin has. This document describes how to perform activation of the SafeWord products. System Prerequisites Successful SafeWord product installation & update Please follow the instructions in the relevant installation guide when installing SafeWord products. Make sure that the product is updated with the latest product updates, using the auto-update mechanism. Network connection Network connection is required for the activation process. Server platform Activation process if available for SafeWord products installed on Windows server 2003 / 2008, with Active Directory Users and Computers installed. Register to Aladdin portal You must register on the Aladdin portal https://portal.aladdin.com. After completing registration, log on to the portal before starting the activation process.
Activate This document describes the activation process for the following SafeWord products: SafeWord 2008 SafeWord Premier Access SafeWord Remote Access The SafeWord product kit contains: software installation CD, SafeWord tokens, activation serial number and token group ID. The token group ID allows you to download the token data records. The activation serial number is required to download the activation key file. The activation can be performed in automatic and manual modes. Automatic activation is done from the SafeWord software. Manual activation is done using the portal. The manual activation is available for all the SafeWord products. The automatic activation is available only for SafeWord 2008 and SafeWord Remote Access for Windows. SafeWord 2008 Activation Can be activated using Automatic activation or Manual activation. SafeWord Remote Access Activation SafeWord Remote Acccess for Windows can be activated using Automatic activation or Manual activation. For Solaris use Manual Activation. SafeWord Premier Access Activation Can be activated using Manual Activation.
Application Automatic Activation 1. Start the SafeWord activation process To start the online activation process, on the SafeWord installation server, go to Start -> Program-> Aladdin -> SafeWord -> Active Directory Users and Computer. Figure 1 Active Directory Users and Computers

2. Enter activation and product info Login to the Aladdin portal, using the username and password received in the email during the registration process. Figure 7 Aladdin portal login

Press broswe option Go to the RCR.TXT file location mark the file then press open Figure 10 Save RCR file
3. Submit Activation Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press Submit. Wait until the activation and authentication process is finished, and press OK. Figure 11 Submit Activation
4. Verify successful activation Verify that the activation process for the provided serial number and token group ID completed successfully. Figure 12 Activation Complete Verify that the activation file key.activated.html is located on the SafeWord server: %SafeWordInstallDir%\SERVERS \adminserver\activation. If the activation file exists, the installation has finished successfully. Otherwise, use manual activation.
Manual activation 1. Create RCR.txt file On the SafeWord installation server, go to Start -> Program-> Aladdin -> SafeWord -> SafeWord 2008 Management Console. Login to the Admin Server (default user name Administrator default password Administrator) Figure 13 SafeWord 2008 Management Console

2. Login to the Aladdin Portal Login to the Aladdin portal, using the username and password received in the email during the registration process. Figure 16 Aladdin portal login
Click the SafeWord Activation link. Figure 17 Activation Link Enter the serial number of the product and click Continue. Figure 18 Enter Serial Number
3. Fill activation and product info Check that the Activation Serial is current and insert the token group ID. Activation serial example: NSXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX Token Group ID example: TKXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX Figure 19 Download activation file Figure 20 Product information
4. Submit Activation Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press Submit. Verify that the activation process for the provided serial number and token group ID completed successfully. Figure 21 Activation Complete
5. Save activation file Right click on the complete page, and select Save Target As to store the zip file with the activation data. Figure 22 Save Target As. Figure 23 Save Activation File
Save the activation file to the directory: %SafeWordInstallDir%\SERVERS\AdminServer\activation Note: the activation file is inside the Zip file; open it to obtain your serial number. 6. Restart Safeword Server Service Start the Computer Management, services and applications wizard on the SafeWord server. To start the wizard, go to Start ->Run and write services.msc Figure 24 Run Sevices.msc

7. Verify successful installation Check that the file key.html has changed to key.activated.html in the following folder: %SafeWordInstallDir%\SERVERS\AdminServer\activation Figure 26 Verfiy Installation The installation has completed successfully.
