Make the Connection Why exhibit in the Key Markets. GERMANY Surface technology is playing an increasingly important role in German industry: From the country s dynamic automotive and mechanical engineering sectors to medical technology and aviation and aerospace, surface treatment is becoming a key industrial segment in Germany a great deal more than a mere niche market. As one of the world s biggest automotive and machinery manufacturers, German industry upholds high quality standards. Meeting these standards requires the highgrade processing of products right down to the smallest detail, which is where surface treatment comes in. According to current forecasts, the surface technology sector will achieve annual sales of more than 9 billion euros by the year 2020. This is reflected in the statistics for the biennial SurfaceTechnology trade fair in Hannover, which features 230 exhibitors and around 40,000 visitors from more than 100 nations. An additional trade fair covering complex surface treatment technology is the parts2clean show in Stuttgart. Every year this event the International Trade Fair for Industrial Parts and Surface Cleaning provides an overview of innovations in the area of pre-treatment and parts cleaning, hosting all the market leaders as exhibitors. The spectrum of tradeshows in Germany is rounded out by O&S, a biennial event staged together with parts2clean, which represents an outstandingly successful platform with a program covering all stages of the surface treatment process. The annual alternation between SurfaceTechnology and O&S insures a highly comprehensive program covering all aspects of surface technology. Featuring the world s biggest industrial trade fair in Hannover and parts2clean and O&S in Stuttgart, Germany has three pivotal exhibitions which represent outstanding venues of enormous industrial significance ideal for making contact with trade visitors and potential clients. INDIA In fall 2012, India resumed its program of economic reforms and liberalization with the introduction of a wide range of measures, including the easing of restrictions on direct equity investments by foreign companies. The impact of the program is now making itself felt, with the Indian economy posed for a renewed growth surge. Thanks to its sheer size, favorable demographic structure and sustained strong growth, India ranks right alongside China as one of the world s most important future markets for surface technology. However, unlike in China, India s growth is driven primarily by strong domestic industrial demand. And since Indian companies have traditionally lagged behind their counterparts in Germany, Japan, Italy and the US in the field of research and development, this demand can only be serviced via partnerships with foreign technology companies. Concrete evidence of this was recently provided by India s Ministry of Heavy Industries, which released figures showing that the share of domestic demand for plant and machinery met from imports is currently sitting at about 30 percent across all industry sectors and rising steadily. International surface technology companies wanting to share in India s domestic market bonanza will find the perfect environment for showcasing their capability at the Surface Technology INDIA show in New Delhi, which is located right at the center of India s industrial heartland. Surface Technology INDIA is part of the World of Industry (WIN) lineup of industrial technology fairs, which also includes the Industrial Automation INDIA, MDA INDIA, CeMAT INDIA, Laser INDIA and Industrial Supply INDIA fairs. This lineup makes WIN one of India s most important industrial technology fairs, attracting large numbers of high quality trade visitors. 6

TURKEY The Surface Treatment Technology division of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) has identified Turkey as an increasingly important target market for its members a market which has shown consistent growth, even during times of global economic turmoil. Its assessment is supported by a recent forecast from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) which indicates that the Turkish economy will grow by an average 6.7 percent between 2011 and 2017, making it the fastest growing nation among the OECD s member states. It stands to reason that this growth will need to be accompanied by commensurate investment in Turkey s industrial base. Turkey s location at the interface between Europe and Asia further adds to the country s market potential for foreign suppliers of surface technology systems. According to Sevda Kayhn Yılmaz, a managing board member of Turkey s Machinery and Accessories Exporters Union, Turkish companies across all parts of the value chain are increasingly seeking to partner with foreign technology providers. The Surface Treatment EURASIA fair, which is staged alongside Metalworking EURASIA and Welding EURASIA as part of the WIN World of Industry show in Istanbul, is the perfect gateway for international companies who want to become an integral part of the Turkish value chain and share in Turkey s enormous long-term growth potential. USA The repeated tug of war between the country s two major political parties over the federal debt limit may suggest otherwise, but the US remains the world s biggest economic power, and will continue to hold this position for some time to come. According to IMF estimates, the US will generate a nominal GOP of around 16.2 trillion US dollars this year, which equates to nearly one fifth of the world s GOP when adjusted by purchasing power parity. Manufacturing is the US s second most important industry after the services sector. The country s surging demand for surface technology is also reflected in its trade deficit resulting from a prolonged period of being a net importer. For these reasons, exhibitors at next year s Surface Technology NORTH AMERICA fair in Chicago will be showcasing their solutions right in the heart of one of the world s largest markets for automation technology. 2016 will also mark the first time that Surface Technology NORTH AMERICA will be staged in Chicago alongside Motion, Drive & Automation (MDA) NORTH AMERICA, ComVac NORTH AMERICA, Industrial Automation NORTH AMERICA, Industrial Supply NORTH AMERICA tradeshows. These named shows take place in parallel IMTS, one of the world s biggest industrial technology fairs, giving exhibitors even better exposure to key decision makers. 7

Brand Strength three perfect platforms. Empower your business by the leading international trade fairs for surface technology. The leading trade fair for surface technology at HANNOVER MESSE, the main Industrial fair in the world. You benefit from the direct contact in all industries, the enormous media presence and over 200,000 visitors at HANNOVER MESSE from all around the world. A performance with a big impact, the big platform. Once a year. Holger Weidmann, Managing Director, Krautzberger GmbH, Eltville am Rhein, Germany: For us as a small, medium-sized company, HANNOVER MESSE is the most important trade fair within the traid fair landscape, because here we have the opportunity to introduce our products to a highly specialized and very international audience. The SurfaceTechnology 2013 provides an excellent overview of possibilities of surface technology from pre-treatment of surfaces to lacquering systems and so we exactly attract our target audience. So far, we have benefited from each HANNOVER MESSE and could repeat with new distribution partners and potential customers to our fair success year after year. 8

Everything about Industrial Parts and Surface Cleaning, with a large variety of industry sectors and materials. Be there when top decision-makers initiate new business. Meet your customers and prospects from all across Europe. Once a year at Messe Stuttgart, in the heart of the world's unique vehicle construction Cluster. Michael Höckh, CEO, Höckh Metall-Reinigungsanlagen, Neuenbürg, Germany: The fair was again excellent, with very high-caliber visitors. By now it is well known that only quality contacts are made here. I would say around 70 percent of visitors came with concrete projects in mind. Around 30 percent were looking for specific information with a view to formulating a later demand. It was clear from discussions, that the trend is ever more towards process chain monitoring and increased cleanliness quality. The trade fair for surface treatments and coatings. Two halls. All industries. All materials. Ideal if you want to profile in the European Market. Every two years in Stuttgart - next time 2016 th with direct access to concurrent parts2clean.
