Wings (make 2) You can use one single color or two different colors to make stripes. If you want to make striped wings, change colors every round. Don't cut off the thread when you change colors. Just leave it hanging so you can pick it up again the next time you change colors. The wings are made out of two separate parts that are crocheted together. Wing, upper part Rnd 1: 6sc in magic ring Rnd 2: (1 inc) x6= 12 sts Rnd 3-5: 1 sc in each st around= 12 sts Cut off and weave in loose ends. You end up with something like this: Rnd 9: (8 sc, 1 dec) x3= 27 sts Rnd 10: (7 sc, 1 dec) x3= 24 sts Leave the tail long enough to sew the wing to the body. Do not stuff it, but press both sides together and sew one wing on each side of the body. Decorations on the wings If you made the wings in one single color, you can add decorations. Sew a small star on the upper part of the wing. Put your thread through a hole in the middle of the upper part of the wing and make 6 small stitches starting each time in the same hole. Make a circle to decorate the lower part of the wing Rnd 1: take the thread with the same color as the wing and crochet 6 sc in a magic ring. Rnd 2: change colors, (1 inc) x6= 12 sts Cut off and leave a long tail. Sew the circle onto the lower part of the wing. Butterflies Peggy Sew 5
