JFBAR-TP-M-101 (RV.3) Page-1 1 SCOP This procedure describes the field inspection for JFBAR. 2 PIN THRAD INSPCTION The tools and gauges required for field inspection may vary dependent on the particular situation, but for most running and pulling operations the following equipment is sufficient: Depth Gauge (Pit gauge) Rotary tools 1 Fine Tooth Triangle File (Small) Scotch Brite mery Cloth Scale or Vernier Calipers The pin thread inspection criteria and actions are shown in Fig. 1. Inspection is conducted visually and by touch of hand, any repairs to the connection should be conducted in accordance with the requirements of Fig.1. Slight burrs or damage to threads may be removed with emery cloth and moderate damage may be repaired with file, followed with emery cloth. There are two types of pin end, swaged and un-swaged end. The difference between those two are shown in Fig. 2. Downloaded From JFTC.COM 3 BOX THRAD INSPCTION The tools and gauges required for field inspection may vary dependent on the particular situations, but for most running and pulling operations the following equipment is sufficient: Depth Gauge (Pit gauge) Fine Tooth Triangle File (Small) Scotch Brite mery Cloth OD Micrometer The box thread inspection criteria and actions are shown in Fig. 3. Inspection is conducted visually and by touch of hand, any required repairs to the connection should be conducted in accordance with the requirements of Fig.3.
