You can see he really liked yellow from his paintings, thinking it to be Warm and Friendly. He also loved sunshine and enjoyed painting flowers, trees and landscape. This is clip from an animation of his Cyprus Tree painting. Here are two more trees painted by Van Gogh. What sort of feeling does each suggest to you? Can you draw a tree with Expression? Maybe it s happy, sad, scary or just funny. When you have done it show it to your friends and see if they can guess what your tree is feeling. Rosie aged 9 drew these trees on Quizicats art pad. He wanted to make his new home in the sunny South of France into an art studio where artists could come and paint and share ideas about art and life.
