IMPORTNT NOTES Thank you for buying a ML-TOMLIN MTRIX shower door! efore you begin, please take a few minutes to read the following notes and record your product information. Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference. We recommend that you read through entire manual EFORE beginning the installation. Please ensure that your shower base is properly installed against the 2x4 stud frame and that it is perfectly leveled. Use wood reinforcement where the threshold of your base meets the tile; this is where your shower doors will mount to the wall. If you are building a custom base, please contact ML-TOMLIN (1.866.884.5290) for details and base specifications in order to ensure that the doors and base will work together. Please note that this is a 2 person installation, and that safety glasses and safety shoes must be used during the installation. Safety gloves are also recommended to ease the handling of glass panels. Inspect your unit upon opening. If any hardware or glass panels are damaged in any way, contact ML- TOMLIN immediately. Do not install damaged units. Ensure that the bottom edges of your glass panels are always protected during installation (you can use the cardboard box supplied with your unit). lso, please note that all glass panels are tempered. Exercise caution at all times in order to prevent chipping or cracking your glass. NEVER install glass panels that are either chipped, cracked, or damaged in any other way. Please check your glass panels carefully before installation. If your glass panels are damaged, please contact ML-TOMLIN (1.866.884.5290). Tempered glass becomes hazardous once it is damaged. 1. Install top two wheels to the door panel Set your door panel (2) in the unit and rest it against the wall (this will ease installation in later steps). Ensure that the handle side of the door panel is located on the proper side (for a left hand door the holes will be located on the left side, for a right hand door, the holes will be located on the right side). Ensure that the panel is well secured. Using an llen key, install the top two wheels (8) onto the door panel so that they are facing outwards. The wheel shaft is eccentric, so adjust the wheels to be at their lowest point of adjustment (see Step 21 for further details). Install the door bumper seal (13) onto the closing edge of the door panel (handle side) with the seal flange facing towards the inside of the shower unit. Trim excess with a utility knife. 13 2 8 x2 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 4

2. Install fixed panel wall jamb On the side where your fixed panel will be mounted, measure 1/2 from the edge of the base and mark a line as shown. Place the wall jamb (3) against the wall and centre it with the mark on the base. Using a level, adjust the wall jamb until it is plumb. Mark the four holes (located inside the wall jamb) onto the wall using a pen or pencil. 0.5 3 x4 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 5

3. Install fixed panel wall jamb (continued) Using a 1/4 ceramic drill bit, drill four holes into your wall through the centre marks drawn earlier. Insert the plastic wall anchors (17) into the holes and mount the wall jamb and wall jamb extension (24) using the provided screws (20). x4 1/4 24 17 x4 20 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 6

4. Install fixed panel arefully slide the fixed panel (1) ½ into the wall jamb as shown. Ensure that the panel is parallel to the edge of the base. UTION: Since the panel sits close to the edge of the base, use extreme caution to ensure that the panel stays in place and does not get knocked off of the base until it is firmly fastened. 1 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 7

5. Install fixed panel bracket Place the fixed panel bracket (10) on the base and slide it over the edge of the fixed panel. Mark the two holes onto the base using a pen or pencil. Note that two brackets are included with your hardware, a left-hand version and a right-hand version; use the one appropriate to your installation. Drill two holes into the base through the centre marks using a 1/8 drill bit. pply a small bead of silicone into the two holes, reposition the bracket, and fasten it to the base using the provided countersink screws (21). aml-tomlin recommends using clear 100% silicone. 10 1/8 21 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 8

6. ssemble rail components Slide one door stopper (5) a few inches onto the wall end of the rail (4) and fix in place using an llen key (access screw through hole in the top of the stopper). Slide the wall mount assembly (6) 0.5 onto the wall end of the rail. Fix in place by tightening the outer set screws (see below) with an llen key. Ensure that the two pairs of set screws face inwards and upwards. Slide the second door stopper (5) a few inches onto the return panel end of the rail (4) and fix in place using an llen key (access screw through hole in the top of the stopper). Ensure that the hole in the rail (shown below) is facing the outside of the shower unit and lines up roughly with the hole in the fixed panel. 0.5 4 6 5 x2 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 9

7. Mount rail assembly to fixed panel Hold the rail in place behind the fixed panel so that the holes are lined up. Fix the rail to the fixed panel using the rail mount assembly (7) as shown below. Ensure that the rail is well secured by tightening the bolt using an llen key. Do not install the cap at this point. 7 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 10

8. Level rail assembly Insert the wall mount extension between the wall and the end of the wall mount assembly (you may need to rotate the rail assembly a few degrees). Place a level on top of the rail and adjust the rail by gently rotating it until the assembly is horizontal. Ensure that the rail is perfectly level, as this will keep your door from opening or closing on its own. Using a pen or pencil, trace a line around the wall mount. 25 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 11

9. Install wall mount to wall arefully rotate the rail about the rail mount so that you can access the wall mount. Re-tighten the rail mount bolt to ensure that the raill assembly stays put. Using an llen Key, loosen all set screws on the wall mount assembly. Remove the end plate and slide the sleeve over the rail and fix in place by tightening the set screws. Place the wall mount end plate against the wall and centre it inside the circle drawn earlier. Using a pen or pencil, mark the centre hole onto the wall. MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 12

10. Install wall mount to wall (continued) Drill a hole into your wall through the centre mark using a 3/8 drill bit. Use a bit appropriate to your wall finish. Insert the metal wall anchor (18) into the hole. Fasten the wall mount end plate along with the 0.5 wall mount extension to the wall using the supplied bolt (20). Tighten well using an llen key. 3/8 18 20 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 13

11. D Fix rail assembly to wall arefully rotate the rail back into position so that it aligns with the wall mount end plate (now fastened to the wall). Loosen the set screws in the wall mount sleeve and slide it towards the wall and over the end plate. heck the rail to see that it still sits level. If level, proceed to step 12. If the rail is not level, then rotate the rail again (re-tighten the wall mount sleeve onto the rail), adjust the wall mount plate as needed using the slotted hole, and repeat the steps starting at 12. Tighten all set screws, ensuring that the two pairs of set screws face inwards and upwards. Using an llen key, ensure that the rail mount bolt is well tightened. Install the rail mount cover as shown. D D MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 14

12. Mark return panel position NOTE: The centre line of your return panel should ideally fall anywhere from the centre of the threshold to no less than 0.5 from the edge of the base. The opening on a 48 unit (from finished wall to return panel) is 45.00 to 47.50. The opening on a 60 unit (from finished wall to return panel) is 56.75 to 59.25. To locate the centre line of your return panel, place the second wall jamb up against the end of the rail and adjust until plumb using a level as shown. If the centre line of the wall jamb does not fall in this area, you may be required to lengthen the rail by using either the 0.5 rail extension (26) or the 1.5 rail extension (27). Once you are satisfied with the location, mark the centre line of the wall jamb onto the base, and carry the line to the wall on the return panel side. Ensure that this line stays parallel to the edge of the base. 26 27 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 15

13. Install return panel wall jamb On the side where your fixed panel will be mounted, place and centre the wall jamb on the line drawn in step 13. Using a level, adjust the wall jamb until it is plumb. Mark the four holes (located inside the wall jamb) onto the wall using a pen or pencil. 3 x4 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 16

14. Install return panel wall jamb (continued) Using a 1/4 drill bit, drill four holes into your wall through the centre marks drawn earlier. Use a bit appropriate to your wall finish. Insert the plastic wall anchors (17) into the holes and mount the wall jamb using the provided screws (20). x4 1/4 17 20 x4 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 17

15. Install return panel arefully slide the return panel (22) into the wall jamb as shown. Ensure that the panel is parallel to the edge of the base. djust the return panel by sliding it in or out of the wall jamb until the hole in the panel lines up exactly with the hole in the rail. If you are using a rail extension, you may need to temporarily hold it in place between the rail and return panel. UTION: Since the panel sits close to the edge of the base, use extreme caution to ensure that the panel stays in place and does not get knocked off of the base until it is firmly fastened. 22 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 18

16. Fix rail end to return panel Fix the end of the rail to the fixed panel with the rail end mount (23). Tighten the bolt securely using an llen key and install the cap. If you are using a rail extension, place the appropriate extension between the rail and the return panel, and feed the bolt through the extension and into the rail. Note that a longer bolt is provided with your hardware for use with the extensions. 23 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 19

17. Mount door assembly onto rail arefully lift the door assembly (still located inside your shower unit), ensuring you have a good grip on the glass. Holding the glass at an angle (see below), set the two wheels on top of the rail. Do not insert the bottom edge of the glass into the fixed panel bracket at this point, but rest it carefully and gently against the inside of it. Set a piece of cardboard in between the bracket and the glass for protection. Dry fit the bottom water guard (14) to the bottom edge of the glass by carefully pulling the bottom end of the panel slightly away from the block. The end of the guard on the closing side of the door should butt up against the door bumper seal. Mark and trim off any excess, and slide the guard over the bottom edge so that the flange is on the inside of the shower unit. UTION: Do not tilt your door too much, otherwise you risk the wheels hitting the fixed panel. 14 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 20

18. Install door assembly onto rail (continued) Once the bottom water guard is mounted, lift up the door assembly off of the rail. Lower the door again, guiding the bottom edge of the door panel into the slot of the fixed panel bracket. MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 21

19. D djust door assembly The wheel axle is eccentric, meaning that the centre of rotation is not aligned with the shaft that mounts to the glass. s a result, you are able to slightly adjust the height and angle of the door by rotating the wheel shaft (the back portion of the wheel assembly, see below). The wheels can be set at their maximum, with the glass sitting higher off the base, or at their minimum, with the glass sitting closer to the base. The wheels can also be adjusted individually so that the door panel is slightly angled. This is useful in cases where the return panel (for corner installations) or closing wall (for alcove installations) is not perfectly plumb, preventing the door panel from closing flush. arefully close the door against the return panel. The edge of the door needs to butt up flush against the return panel for a proper water seal. If it does not, then adjust the top wheels by rotating them (remember the eccentric wheel shaft, see below), until the door closes flush. Min. (low) Max. (high) Max. (high) Min. (low) ngled (wheels adjusted individually) MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 22

20. Install return panel bracket Place the return panel bracket (11) on the base and slide it over the edge of the return panel. Mark the two holes onto the base using a pen or pencil. Note that two brackets are included with your hardware, a left-hand version and a right-hand version; use the one appropriate to your installation. Remove the bracket, and drill two holes into the base through the centre marks using a 1/8 drill bit. pply a small bead of silicone into the two holes, reposition the bracket, and fasten it to the base using the provided countersink screws (21). aml-tomlin recommends using clear 100% silicone. 11 1/8 21 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 23

21. omplete door assembly Mount the two bottom wheels below the rail (see Step 1). djust the wheels so that they sit tightly against the underside of the rail. Install the handle (9) to the door panel so that the longer of the two inside knobs is located on top. 9 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 24

22. djust door stoppers While the door is closed, use an llen Key to loosen the set screw of the door side stopper. Slide the door stopper so that it butts up against the wheel. Ensure that the stopper keeps the door panel from slamming into the return panel while closing. djust the fixed panel side door stopper in the same way, however, ensure that the door panel, when open, does not hit the wall and that the handle does not hit the edge of the fixed panel. MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 25

23. Install threshold Measure the distance between the fixed panel bracket and the return panel bracket and take note. dd 1/4 to this dimension; the total is the length to which you should cut your threshold. ut your threshold using a metal saw (hacksaw). Slide the cut threshold into the slot of one bracket and then into the other. You may use a few small beads of silicone on the underside of the threshold to hold it in place. 12 + 0.25 = MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 26

24. Install remaining seals Install the wall jamb seal (16). Insert the wedged end in between the fixed panel and the outer edge of the wall jamb. Start at the bottom and work your way up to the top, trimming off any excess with a utility knife. Repeat for return panel side. Measure the distance between the top of the fixed panel bracket and the underside of the bottom wheels. ut your vertical water guard (15) to be roughly 1/4 shorter than the measured dimension. Install the guard over the front edge of the fixed panel so that the guard flange is facing inwards (see below). Using a utility knife, trim the bottom end of your door bumper seal flange so that it just clears the top of the return panel bracket (see below). 16 15 MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 27

25. pply silicone pply silicone along all outside edges of your unit, as shown below. Do not silicone on the inside of your unit. aml-tomlin recommends using clear 100% silicone. Please allow 24 hours for the silicone to properly dry before using your unit. Enjoy your new Matrix shower door! 24 h MTRIX INSTLLTION - ORNER 28
