Hennie Niemann Jnr O N L I N E A U C T I O N 4 6 MAY 2011 Following the fantastic success of Hennie Niemann Jnr s 2010 Online Auction, he has worked with great care and dedication to assemble a new collection of 21 oil paintings for this year s online auction. The artist s objective with this body of work has been to develop and refine his technique and stylistic approach, as well as to introduce new subject matter to his oeuvre. These oils reflect Hennie Jnr s longstanding fascination with the beautiful women and interesting characters found in his portrait studies, his exploration of the human form in studies of nudes and bathers, and his prowess in constructing his typically colourful and well balanced interior and still life compositions. The objective of this second annual online auction of 21 new paintings, is to allow everybody an equal opportunity to acquire Hennie Niemann Jnr s work. The artist has decided that this is the fairest and most practical process by which all interested buyers can bid for works they wish to purchase. Hennie Niemann Jnr 1972 Born in Bloemfontein to Magriet and Hennie Niemann. 1980-89 Moves to Vermont where he is introduced to art at a very early age. Under the tuition of his artist father Hennie Niemann Snr. and Gregoire Boonzaier, he begins sketching in bistre. 1990 After matriculating from Hermanus High School, Hennie's military service affords him a year in the Kruger National Park. His bistre sketches and expressionistic oils reflects his intense affinity with the interactions of the wild. 1993 His first exhibition of drawings was a sell-out. 1994-96 Meets Angela Key who shares his passion for painting and wildlife. Together they set up a permanent studio in Vermont from where they make frequent safaris and visit many game parks and nature reserves throughout Southern Africa, resulting in a highly successful exhibition of their works at the Onrus Galerie in September 1996. 1997 Exhibition with Angela Key at The Cherie de Villiers Fine Art Gallery, Rosebank, Johannesburg.
