Walz & Krenzer, Inc. 2 W alz & Krenzer, Inc. (WK) is a wholly U.S. owned small business specializing in the design and supply of custom fabricated watertight and airtight doors, flood barriers, and hatches. Since 1939, the company has offered a wide range of competitively priced manual and power operated doors, flood barriers, and hatches designed to seal any size opening against water, chemical, air, and blast pressure. WK offers unparalleled experience in the design of custom watertight closures, from the most simple flood barriers to complex power operated (hydraulic/ pneumatic) gates and doors. PRODUCT OVERVIEW All WK closures are custom designed and manufactured to your specifications. Closures can be designed to comply with FEMA, radioactive, blast, or other requirements. Watertight doors, hatches, and flood barriers are supplied for any size opening, and can be designed to withstand almost any pressure requirements. All closures can be operated either manually or with hydraulic or pneumatic controls. Compression, lip seal, or inflatable gaskets in the closure s panel are secured against the closure frame by securing devices to provide an effective watertight or airtight seal. Installation is achieved by either bolting or welding the frame to an existing structure or by embedding an integral masonry frame in newly poured concrete. All closures are available in steel, aluminum, or stainless steel. Prior to release for manufacturing, all WK drawings are approved by in-house licensed Professional Engineers. 08 39 19/WAL BuyLine 9365 Lip Seal Gasket Flood Barriers Model FP-LS, FP-M, and FG-LS Single panel removable lip seal flood barrier Model FP-LS Multiple panel removable lip seal flood barrier Model FP-M SIDE FRAME BOTTOM PIN SIDE FRAME BOTTOM FRAME "LIP SEAL" GASKET STOP "LIP SEAL" GASKET "LIP SEAL" GASKET STOP SEALED SILL T he lip seal flood barrier offers the flush sill advantage of inflatable gasket floodgates, plus the following additional benefits: Ease and speed of use; just place the panel in the frame and slide the latch bolts to secure. There are no gaskets to inflate or bolts to tighten. Increased reliability; there is no inflatable gasket that could lose air pressure. Minimal frame construction offers improved aesthetics. Lower costs Lip seal flood barriers are available in hinged or removable configurations. Openings wider than 10 often require multiple panels with removable braces. Large panels may be supplied with mounted rollers for ease in transportation and installation. Single panel lip seal flood barriers have a very small (2") corner radius. These flood barriers offer a fully watertight seal and are recommended for most applications. The radiused corners are small enough so as not to present a tripping hazard. In cases where the small corner radius creates interference problems or at a junction of panels in multi-panel floodgates, square corners can be utilized. Very slight leakage may occur at the square gasket corners, but this leakage rate is significantly less than the FEMA allowable leakage rates. When the weight of the removable panel is a concern, we offer an aluminum composite panel material. Use of this aluminum skinned composite material reduces the panel weight by about 45%. Inflatable Gasket Flood Barriers & Doors Models FP-I, FG-I and WT-ID 08 39 19/WAL BuyLine 9365 Side hinged inflatable gasket flood barrier Model FG-I Removable panel inflatable gasket flood barrier Model FP-I Inflatable gasket door Model WT-ID I nflatable gasket flood barriers and doors are recommended when a 100% watertight seal and a flush bottom sill are required. This type of flood barrier/door is often used for inside applications such as labs and clean rooms. Flood barriers are available in bottom hinged, side hinged, and removable designs. The gasket(s) can be easily inflated using a hand or foot pump, portable compressed air tank or compressor, bottled gas or shop air. Power inflation/deflation, local and remote activation, and monitoring are among the available options. Both the flood barriers and doors are available in both single and dual inflatable gasket designs. For cost savings, we recommend only using dual gaskets in critical applications. Care should be taken to maintain a clean sealing surface so as not to damage the gasket. 1.06 Quality Assurance: C. Perform shop chalk test to ensure 100% watertight/airtight seal. D. Perform air leakage test to ensure 100% watertight/airtight seal. Watertight & Airtight Doors Models WT-FD-QA and WT-FD-I Quick-acting watertight door Model WT-FD-QA W atertight and airtight doors are available in either single or double panel configurations for any size opening in both hinged and sliding designs. Compression gasket doors offer simple, reliable operation for pressures up to 140 psi. Inflatable gasket doors are typically designed for a maximum of 40 psi and are often used in interior locations. Compression gasket doors are sealed with individual dogs or a quick-acting mechanism (hand wheel or lever), and can be operable from both or one side. Double doors are often used where space or weight constraints are a concern, and are provided without center mullions to allow for full access. All doors can be provided for manual or power operation, with options such as local and/or remote indication or operation, and interlocking available. Frames are available for bolting or welding to existing masonry openings or with integral masonry subframes for embedding in new pour concrete. Watertight/airtight doors are available in both vertically and horizontally sliding designs. 1.06 Quality Assurance C. Perform shop chalk test to ensure 100% watertight/airtight seal.
