Fence Layout Page 3 STEP 1 Determine Fence line. Please read your local council regulations for any pool fencing rules and regulations prior to install to be aware of any climable objects that may effect the compliance of your fence Install. We recommend you plan your wall set out/post position on a piece of paper first to save unnecessary wasted time. Accurately determine the boundary line to where the Glass Fence will be installed. STEP 2 Check Levels. Check the levels for your proposed fenceline starting at the highest point. STEP 3 - Marking Out. Mark out the centre of your fence line with a chalk line. STEP 4 Marking out the Panels. Mark out with a pencil, the glass panel sizes being used allowing for the gaps between the glass of approx. 25mm 75mm But not to exceed 100mm Please Note that the gate panel only come 900mm wide and only has a 10mm gap between panels on both the hinge side and the latch side.
Spigot Installation STEP 5 Marking Out The Spigot Locations. Mark out the spigot locations on the fence line approx. 12.5% of glass width in from edge. i.e. 1200mm panel installation. Page 4 150mm 150mm STEP 6 Circle the cross where the spigot is going just to avoid confusion with other markings that may be on the fence line. STEP 7 Mark Out The Holes For The Mini Posts. Use the bottom plate of one mini post and remove it from the spigot, if its a one peice spigot then it will be ok. Mark out the hole to be drilled as per diagram below.
Spigot Installation Page 5 STEP 7 Anchoring The Spigots To The Concrete. Using a 6mm masonary bit, drill down approx. 50mm to form pilot hole then redrill using the correct size drill bit to suit the anchor you are using. You will need to drill down to a depth of aproximaitly 120mm. Once you have drilled the correct holes size and correct depth, then you will need to clean the hole out so its free of any dust. You can do this by using either a Vacuum cleaner or by Blowing the holes out with a pump. STEP 8 Placing The Spigots. Once all the spigots have been placed in their correct positions, set up a raised stringline to go through the centre of the spigot so it just hovers approx. 2mm above the bottom but not touching.
STEP 9 Applying The Chemset.Place nozzel as deep as you can go, squeezing the Chemset into each hole, filling approx. 2/3rds of the hole depth. Applying the Chemset to a maximum of 8 holes at any one time as harding time is extremely quick. CREATING YOUR CORNER OF THE WORLD Spigot Installation Page 6 IMPORTANT: At this point you will need to be very sure that you have the layout correct. STEP 10 Installing the Spigot. Position spigot back in position as soon as possible, then push threaded rod and nut into position so the nut is flush with the top of base. Leave to set for at least 1 hour. Using a socket head, wrench tighten the nuts to create maximum stability. And then finally place the cover plate over the spigot.
STEP 11 Lifting The Glass Into Place. Lift the glass in place. This requires 2 people. Gently lower the glass into the centre of the spigots without making contact with the stainless steel. And then tighten the bottom grub screws very tight, then tighten the top grub screw to align the level. CREATING YOUR CORNER OF THE WORLD Glass Installation Page 7
Gate Installation Page 8 STEP 12 Attaching The Gate Hinges. Attach the hinges with the hinge body on the outside of the pool area. Attached the hinge to the gate first and then sit in place and attach the other side of the hinge onto the hinge panel. STEP 13 Attaching The Gate Latch. Attach the male section of the latch to the gate. Attach the female sectin of the latch to the latching panel. Apply tension packer between the glass and latch with the double sided tape against the glass, then tighten the grub screws on the latch.
Final Assembly. STEP 14 Tensioning The Hinges. Tension gate by using the hinge pin (supplied) rotating the hinge barrel and re-positioning the small pin in the required hole making sure you tension both hinges. *Make sure hinges are maintained with WD40/CRC as the are moving parts. Page 9 Tensioning The New High Performance Hinges. Page 9 STEP 3 Tensioning The Hinges. Slot the small part back on top of the barrel and position to the required position to get the correct tension for the glass gate. Now as shown in pic 2 adjust the barrel around clockwise so the eye in the small part you have just replaced lines up with the adjust screw. Tighten the adjust screw back in to hold the barrel tensioned and replace the top cap.
