2009 Rapid Prototyping Industry Spotlight Vendors Directory The rapid prototyping industry, or what some are now calling the additive manufacturing industry, has seen many changes and advances in recent years. In fact just this year vendors have introduced new desktop 3D printers in the $10,000-$15,000 range, including Solido s SD300 Pro, 3D Systems V-Flash and Dimension 3D Printing s Uprint. In addition Quickparts came out with two new material offerings, ULTEM, a durable, high temperature, chemically resistant thermoplastic and also a new black ABS-like stereolithography material used for rapid prototyping and RTV/Silicone master patterns. According to Terry Wohlers of Wohlers Associates, one of the latest developments, which could impact the additive manufacturing (as he calls it) industry, are open-source printers. Open-source developments include Cornell University s Fab@Home project, RepRap and CandyFab open-source 3D printers. In addition to updates, our Industry Spotlight would not be complete without our Vendors Directory, featuring Contributing Sponsors Objet, Solido, 3D Systems, Z Corporation and Accelerated Technologies who made this Industry Spotlight possible. Be sure to check out their ads and article submissions, along with other great features in this year s special report. To learn more about the sponsors see their listings below, along with other vendors listed. 3-D Prototype Design Inc. www.3dprototype.com 3D Systems Instant prototyping at your fingertips! 3D Systems V-Flash Desktop Modeler - your own fast, affordable and convenient 3D Printer that builds durable plastic parts directly from your CAD data. www.3dsystems.com Accelerated Technologies Description: ATI is a true partner in the product design and development cycle.
