February 1, 2018 Questions: Email ksterling@uga.edu Coca-Cola Corporate Site Visit Learning from the Pros Series Beatriz Perez Chief Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability Officer The Coca-Cola Company Beatriz Bea Perez is the Chief Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability Officer for The Coca-Cola Company. Bea leads a newly integrated team across public affairs and communications, sustainability and partnerships to support the Company s new growth model and path to become a total beverage company. In this role, Bea aligns a diverse portfolio of work against critical business objectives to support brands, communities, consumers and partners worldwide. She continues to oversee the Company s sports and entertainment assets including iconic
partnerships with Olympics, Special Olympics and FIFA. Bea will continue to lead strategic and operational efforts for the Company s Retail, Licensing and Attractions portfolio of assets. Since 2011, Bea served as the Company s first Chief Sustainability Officer, where she developed and led progress against comprehensive global sustainability commitments with a focus on water stewardship and women s economic empowerment. She advanced a global sustainability strategy designed to help grow the business while making a lasting positive difference for consumers, communities and the environment. Prior to leading the Company s sustainability efforts, Bea served as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Coca-Cola North America, where she built brands by developing some of the Company s most historic relationships including American Idol and NASCAR. She began her career at the Company in 1996 and held various roles in brand management and field operations before becoming CMO. Among Bea s recognitions are membership in the American Advertising Hall of Achievement and the Sports Business Journal s Hall of Fame. The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) named Bea to its 2017 50 Most Powerful Latinas ranking. She has been recognized as a Conservation Trailblazer by The Trust for the Public Land. She was on Hispanic Executive magazine s list of Top 10 Leaders, and she was featured as one of the 25 Most Powerful Latinas on CNN and in People en Español. Bea is a strong advocate for community service, serving on various boards including The Coca- Cola Foundation, the Company s global philanthropic arm. She also serves on the corporate board for Primerica. She holds a Bachelor s of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland. Amanda Rosseter Senior Director of External Communications, Global Public Affairs and Communications Amanda Rosseter is currently Senior Director of External Communications, Global Public Affairs and Communications, at The Coca-Cola Company. In her current role, Amanda leads external communications for the Company s new total beverage company business model strategy, sustainability partnerships and commitments, brand PR engagements and media inquiries for the Company and senior leadership. Amanda joined Coca-Cola in 2011 and served on the Corporate Media team for four years, managing large scale communications events such as World Economic Forum at DAVOS and the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Prior to Coca-Cola, Amanda served as a broadcast journalist for 18 years, across the United States and in global short-term coverage assignments. Amanda began her career as a national writer and political producer for NBC News and went on to work as a correspondent and news anchor for CNN, NBC, and most recently, the ABC affiliate WSB-TV in Atlanta. She has covered four (4) Presidential elections, debates and inaugurals, and numerous breaking news events such as the death of Pope John Paul II, the September 11th attacks, Hurricane Katrina and the launch of the Iraq War. Amanda is the winner of four Emmy awards, three prestigious Edward R. Murrow awards, two national Gabriel awards, and nine Associated Press awards for documentary writing and investigative reporting. She has also been honored with a Columbia University DuPont Silver Baton for Investigative Journalism, widely regarded as the broadcast equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. Amanda lives in Atlanta with her husband, their two teenagers and two dogs. Nancy Quan Chief Technical Officer, Coca-Cola North America and VP of the Coca-Cola Company Nancy Quan is the Chief Technical Officer, for the Coca-Cola Company, North American businesses. Her areas of responsibility include Research & Development; Technical Operations and Commercialization; Quality, Safety and Environment; and Scientific and Regulatory Affairs. Nancy and her team are responsible for creating, driving and executing an impactful innovation and growth agenda; commercializing successful solutions throughout the supply chain; ensuring effective, forward looking governance and stewardship; and protecting the business with strategic scientific and regulatory solutions and strong advocacy. Prior to this role, Nancy held the role of Global R&D Officer for the Coca Cola Company, where she was responsible for setting the global R&D vision, strategy and priorities. Nancy s responsibilities also included leading the Corporate Research and Engineering functions and overseeing the External Technology Acquisition (ETA) function, through which Coca-Cola structures strategic partnerships with universities, research centers, technology start-ups, and others to source technologies for sustained competitive advantage.
Nancy joined Coca-Cola in 2007 as R&D General Manager for Europe and Eurasia Group, based in Belgium. Following this, she moved to Atlanta where she took on the role of Vice President Innovation. Nancy then moved to Shanghai, China to take on the role of Vice President R&D, Pacific Group; responsible for the Shanghai, Japan and India R&D centers. Nancy has extensive experience leading R&D and Innovation organizations around the world. Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Nancy worked with Mars Incorporated and held leadership roles spanning across R&D, Business Development, and Manufacturing. Nancy s career has been global and multi-cultural in nature; as she has built strong teams across a range of countries and cultures, including the US, the UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, China, Japan, India and Australia. Nancy is a graduate of Purdue University. She served as co-chair of the Coca-Cola United Way campaign, and is a Tocqueville society member. In her career, she has received various recognitions, including: Top 40 Women in Innovation, Outstanding Alumni Award, and was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame, Nutrition Department at Purdue University. She serves on the Industry Affiliates Advisory Board for the University of California, Davis MBA Program, Food & Ag Sector; is on the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Executive Committee for the Grocery Manufacturers Association; the (R)Tech Advisory Council for the Retail Industry Leaders Association; and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Liberty Mutual Group, the parent company of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Pamela Stewart Vice President, National Retail Sales, The Coca-Cola Company Pamela Stewart has spent more than 17 years across the Coca- Cola System and currently leads a portfolio of customers across the National Retail Sales organization of the Coca-Cola North America Group as Vice President. Prior to National Retail Sales, she led the Region Foodservice & On Premise organization for the East Region U.S.A in Coca-Cola Refreshments (CCR) after serving as Staff Executive to the former President & CEO of CCR. Pam has led several other key leadership roles across the company in the areas of national & regional sales, operations & finance and foodservice on premise & retail business segments. She spent several years in finance across other key industries, including telecom, prior to her career in The Coca-Cola System. Pam serves on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Georgia and as the Chair of the Board of Directors of GLAAD. She also is both an inaugural member and the current Chair of The Coca-Cola Company s Multicultural Leadership Council and a proud alumna of Leadership Atlanta. Pam is a voracious reader, creative writer, world traveler and passionate community advocate for civil, children s and animal rights. She is happily married to Loan Huynh with four furry children Katherine Cherry Communications Manager, Global Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability, The Coca-Cola Company Katherine Cherry is a creative communicator whose outlook on storytelling has been fundamentally shaped by her experience as a change maker at The Coca-Cola Company. During her seven year career with the Coca-Cola system, Katherine has mobilized cross functional teams to strategize and communicate initiatives that have helped to set in motion a new chapter for an old company. Most recently, Katherine helped craft strategic communications for World Without Waste an industry-first goal to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can the Coca-Cola system sells globally by 2030. Previously, Katherine led The Coca-Cola Company s partnership with World Economic Forum s Global Shapers Community, an influential network of social entrepreneurs spanning 169 countries. In addition, Katherine managed stakeholder communications for The Coca-Cola Company s Sustainable Agriculture and Global Workplace Rights platforms. Inspired by her work with the Global Shapers, Katherine co-founded The Coca-Cola Company s Millennial Voices Leadership Council a cohort of young associates who advise senior leadership on ways to ignite a more entrepreneurial company culture. Through Millennial Voices, Katherine championed The Coca-Cola Company s new Paid Parental Leave Policy in the United States for all new parents moms, dads, adoptive, and foster fully inclusive of LGBTQ partners. Katherine graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia and holds Bachelor Degrees in International Affairs and English. She is a passionate advocate for gender equality, a novice urban farmer, a Design Thinking facilitator, and a rescue dog lover.
