UNDERSTANDING THE PATTERN Be sure to read through the instructions before you begin. All seam allowances are ¼ and instructions for pressing are specified in each step. Visit /triangle-wheel-tutorial for a video demonstration of making the block. PRINTING THE TEMPLATES STARCHING YOUR FABRIC Starching your fabric will help stabilize the bias edges of the fabric and give you greater accuracy when piecing. Lightly spray starch on the fabric and then flip the fabric starch side down and press from the other side. Keep lightly starching, flipping, and pressing until your fabrics have a medium stiffness. Visit /starching for a free starching tutorial. Be sure your printer is set to print at 100% no scaling before printing the templates (at the end of this PDF). After they re printed, check the 1/2 guide to be sure the templates are the proper size. We prefer to use a leave in wash-away stabilizer for foundation paper piecing. You can print directly on the stabilizer sheets with an ink-jet printer. After piecing, there is no need to remove the stabilizer.
