It als invlves carrying ut user maintenance and fault-finding prcedures n radi equipment and pwer supplies, and perating an emergency psitin indicating radi beacn (EPIRB), a search and rescue radar transpnder (SART), autmatic identificatin system - search and rescue transmitter (AIS-SART), and autmatic identificatin system man verbard (AIS- MOB) device, and digital selective calling man verbard (DSC-MOB) device. This unit applies t Cxswains and Masters f cmmercial vessels wh use marine radi and telephne equipment t transmit and receive infrmatin t and frm shre and vessel-based peratrs. They wrk relatively independently under brad peratinal requirements, with limited accuntability and respnsibility fr themselves and thers in achieving the prescribed utcmes.
