New funded projects EUROPEANA DSI Digital Service Infrastructure (DSI) 1 st April 2015 31th May 2016 Call : Connecting Europe Facility Telecommunications 2014 - Europeana - Core Service Platform Objective DSIs are composed of core service platforms which enable trans-european connectivity and interoperability, and related generic services which link national and sectorial infrastructures to the platforms. Under funding from the Connecting Europe Facility, Europeana will develop into a widely recognised platform of services and resources, not only for metadata references, but also for access to cultural content, tools and technologies, projects and other services. 27 partners Stichting Europeana Europeana Foundation (EF) : leader MCA : full partner as the aggregator for museums Total Budget : 8,900,000 euros MCA Budget : 229 589 euros 4

EUROPEANA DSI 2 Digital Service Infrastructure (DSI) 2 More or less same structure of previous call of DSI. Continuation of the work done in DSI. Duration: 12 months. From Grant to Procurement: Payment upon the presentation of invoices Overcome the problem of subcontracting Deadline of the call: probably December 2015. Budget: 10 M euros: 5 for the Foundation and the network, 5 for the partners. New distributed structure. Possible offices: London at the BL Berlin Athens at NTUA Workplan: 2015: requirements for the migration to the cloud 2016: build the platform + migration plan 2017: migration 2018: the cloud platform is operative 9

New funded projects PARTHENOS Funded project 36 months PARTHENOS = Pooling Activities, Resources and Tools for Heritage E-research Networking, Optimization and Synergies www.parthenos-project.eu PARTHENOS aims at strengthening the cohesion of research in the broad sector of Linguistic Studies, Humanities, Cultural Heritage, History, Archaeology and related fields through a thematic cluster of European Research Infrastructures and integrating initiatives and e- infrastructures. The consortium behind the project, led by PIN Scrl - Educational and Scientific Services for the University of Florence in Italy, is composed of 15 partners from 9 European countries and includes the two European Research Infrastructures on Digital Humanities (DARIAH) and Linguistics (CLARIN). ICCU is partner of the project MCA subcontractor for the networking and dissemination activities. 10

CULTURAL HERITAGE OF WAR IN CONTEMPORARY EUROPE Proposal 2015 NEW PROPOSAL UNDER EVALUATION CALL: H2020-Reflective societies Reflective 5 DURATION: 36 M - 12 partners from EU - coordinated by University of Montpellier ; MICHAEL Association is partner. BUDGET: total 2M5 // MCA : 184 435 euros AIMS : Insure the transmission of the memory of the wars at the Europeans of today in the respect for the peace values and for the intercultural dialogue of the European Union. 3 pillars of the project : - A compared study about the use of the memory heritage of the war in Europe (in education, tourism, political level, collects) - The exploitation in research, the conception of tools of broadcasting (tourism of memory, didactic tools), - Political recommendation. 11

TRAINING OFFERS TRAINING : Glams going digital: Study schools Target Students, GLAMs experts Aim The purpose of the Study School is to understand the issues involved in GLAMs digitazation, access and re-use and suggested ways of enhancing digital services with a focus on Italy and Europe Objectives At the end of the Study School week, the participants are expected: to know the status of GLAMs digitisation in Europe and Italy to use the tools available for discovering and using a resource to prepare a digital collection Methodology Case studies about GLAMs, as they are currently carried out in Italy and Europe Work Groups about aggregation. TRAINING OFFERS Seminar on e-infrastructure for DCH The seminars could be organized in collaboration with NRENs (National Research and Education Network) Target Researchers and experts from various areas in the cultural heritage and the art and the humanities domains. Aim A focus on e-infrastructure is important both for support of national objectives and for participation in European and global arenas. 19
