You will need a total of 64 HST's from the following Fabrics: G/J, F/J, H/J, and I/J Once your HST s are complete, sew the following rows together: (follow iagram 4 for fabric placement) Row 1: Sew a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from Fabric J to a Row 2: Sew a G/J HST to a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from J. Row 3: Sew a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from Fabric J to a Row 4: Sew a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from Fabric J to a Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Row 4 Row 5 Row 6 IGRM 5 Row 5: Sew a G/J HST to a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from J. Row 6: Sew a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from Fabric J to a Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Row 4 Row 5 Row 6 IGRM 4 Next sew row 1,2 and 3 together. Sew a 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangle from Fabric to the bottom. Follow iagram 5. Now sew row 4,5, and 6 together. Sew a 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangle from Fabric to the top. (iagram 5) IGRM 6 Sew a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square from Fabric J to a (iagram 7.1) Next sew a 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangle from Fabric to the piece you created in iagram 7.1. Follow iagram 7.2. Repeat steps in iagram 7.1 and 7.2 making the mirror image of your piece created in iagram 7.2. You will have two pieces that look like iagram 8. Once you have these two pieces created you will need to make the mirror images of theses pieces. You will have a total of four pieces that look like iagram 6. Set pieces aside. IGRM 7.1 IGRM 7.2

Take the pieces made in iagram 6 and in iagram 11 and layout and sew pieces following iagram 12. IGRM 8 Next sew a 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangle from Fabric J inbetween both pieces made in iagram 8. IGRM 9 Sew a 4 1/2 x 10 1/2 rectangle from Fabric to the bottom of the piece created in iagram 9. Repeat steps in iagram 7-10 making the mirror image of Iagram 10. You will have two pieces that look like iagram 11. IGRM 12 To complete your block sew a 2 1/2 x 18 1/2 strip from Fabric J in between the two pieces you made in iagram 12. (Follow iagram 13) IGRM 10 IGRM 13 Your finished block should look like iagram 14. Repeat steps in iagram 4-14 using the remaining fabric pieces. Follow the quilt illustration as a guide to create your remaining blocks. You should have a total of 4 blocks of block,,, and. (iagram 15) IGRM 11

lock IGRM 15 lock IGRM 14 SSEMLING THE TOP Sew all rights sides together with ¼"seam allowance. Press open. Once all your blocks are sewn arrange your blocks according to iagram 16. Sew Row 1 -Row 4 then sew all rows together. Follow quilt illustration as a guide. lock IGRM 16 lock

quilt assembly Sew rights sides together. Place KING FRI on a large surface wrong side up. Stretch it with masking tape against that surface. Place TTING on top of backing fabric. Place TOP on top of the batting with right side facing up. Smooth away wrinkles using your hands. Pin all layers together and baste with basting thread, using long stitches. You can also use safety pins to join the layers. Stop stitching before you reach the last 5 or 6 inches. ut the threads and remove the quilt from under the machine presser foot. Lay the loose ends of the binding flat along the quilt edge, folding the ends back on themselves where they meet. Press them together to form a crease. Using this crease as the stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding with right sides together (you can help yourself marking with a pencil if the crease is difficult to see). Trim seam to ¼" and press open. omplete the sewing. Turn binding to back of the quilt, turn raw edge inside and stitch by hand using blind stitch. Machine or hand quilt starting at the center and working towards the corners. Remember that quilting motifs are a matter of personal preference. Have fun choosing yours! IGRM 1 Stop stitching here fter you finished, trim excess of any fabric or batting, squaring the quilt to proceed to bind it. IGRM 3 fold IGRM 2 45 INING Sew rights sides together. ut enough strips 1½" wide by the width of the fabric to make a final strip 298" long. Start sewing the binding strip in the middle of one of the sides of the quilt, placing the strip right side down and leaving an approximated 5" tail. Sew with ¼" seam allowance (using straight stitch), aligning the strip s raw edge with the quilt top s raw edge. Stop stitching ¼" before the edge of the quilt (I- GRM 1). lip the threads. Remove the quilt from under the machine presser foot. Fold the strip in a motion of 45 and upward, pressing with your fingers (IGRM 2). Hold this fold with your finger, bring the strip down in line with the next edge, making a horizontal fold that aligns with the top edge of the quilt (IGRM 3). Start sewing at ¼" of the border, stitching all the layers. o the same in the four corners of the quilt.
