Medieval Wars Alpha Fix - PSP If you're a lover of real-time strategy and war scenarios, then Jorge_97 has the homebrew game for you. Derived from the game known as Tribal Wars, this little app has more or less the same basic mechanics. Your first job as the player is to navigate through the on-screen menu and work your way through the opening tutorial. Once you've learned how to both secure and build an army medieval style, you'll have to work as the governor of your own civilization to provide the best scenario for your people. 1 / 9
While many homebrew games can really be quite simple, this one is going to give you a lot of nuance because there are plenty of decisions to be made at once. Once your clan starts getting attacked by the AI, it's your responsibility to recruit troops, defend your walls and attack your enemy at the same time. Sounds hectic right? In terms of actual fixes in this version, you're looking at a major jump in stability for the game, so you should be getting a lot less crashes. The developer recommends using this version if you want to play their game, and I think you should too! This next download will have you reliving the days of gaming yesteryear! 2 / 9
Simple Shoot Alpha v2.0 - PSP Not too long ago, a lot of my commenters on a previous story praised the simpler days of classic gaming over the complex plot and graphics that we see today. If you are in that specific camp of thinking then this homebrew game just might be for you. Essentially, taking cue from the basic frame of Asteroids, this game is another home-spun 2D shooter that you can try out on a Sony handheld. There isn't a whole lot of story to this one. The basic objective is to shoot any enemies that come your way based on the controller layout (up, down, left, or right.) 3 / 9
Obviously as the name implies, this app is indeed in its alpha stages, so don't expect anything too full-featured at this point. Regardless, developer nubek has got that addicting simplistic gameplay style down pretty perfectly already. Just shoot and defend and you'll see what I mean. The only other note from the coder is that at the start of the game you will see no enemies, but to get the action going, just hit start and right on the D-pad and everything should work out just fine. If you miss what the Atari had to offer, here's one way to address the issue! The next download is another awesome homebrew selection from Jorge_97 that will also test your thinking skills! Super Chess v1.0 - PSP 4 / 9
Earlier in our feature, Jorge_97 tried to test our logic through his attack and defend strategy game. This time however, they are going to try to take us in with the basic format of chess that we all know and love. In case you've been living under a rock your entire life, the basic object of this board game is to try and defend your king piece as much as possible while taking down your opponents. Each typology of character only has certain moves they can make however, which makes this basic format one of the ultimate tests on your brain. With regards to features, for such a simple idea there are actually a decent amount to be had. If you're looking to play with a buddy, you can do so by swapping the handheld around at each turn. Even if the whole "friends" thing isn't your idea of fun, there is also some pretty smart thinking AI to look forward to as well. In terms of setup, you can pick between the classic piece 5 / 9
arrangement or even create one of your own. Obviously there is still some small amount of work that could be done to make this better, but at version 1.0 this is a really stellar start to a good chess app. Click to the the next page to check out the PS3 media suite everybody's been talking about! Showtime Test Build 4.1.387 For members of the PS3 scene, there are certain programs that all must have tried and lived by at least once. Showtime is definitely one of those applications. More or less what this program does, is take that same old basic media option you've got in the firmware and throws it into hyper-drive. You know all those Bluray rips you've got lying around that your system won't play in its default configuration? This utility will make sure that you'll be able to get all those movies started plus your own homebrew apps and games as well should that be your choice to load 6 / 9
them. This is a multi-functional tool for CFW users that should not be ignored. When it comes to software changes, this build has enough of them to make it one of our hottest downloads right now. Primarily, you'll see that even more content can be obtained thanks to support for thetvdb.com. In addition to this, for those films that don't match up with the aspect ratio you want there is also a stretch to fit option. A major crash with opensubtitles.org has also been remedied here too. If you're a lover of media, then you'll love this build of Showtime! 7 / 9

Whether you are looking to launch into a game of Call of Duty, or maybe you just have a movie you want to watch, this is the software that many use to get the job done. After giving us version 04.18.00 which offered some pretty amazing features including the ability to install.pkg files from the web and the basic use of the IPF function returned, the developer came back recently with another small but significant addition that has apparently got quite a few of you talking. With its greatly improved visuals in HD modes, and fixes for browsing HD and DVD Videos, there's no question why we would love it so much. If you're a Rogero user specifically, you'll also probably love the fact that the IPF toolbox now loads as soon as you exit from the game you are playing. All in all, this is another worthy release from deank. That's all I have now, but be sure to check back soon for another round of the best downloads that the Hacks community has to offer! 9 / 9
