Was in charge of major gift fund-raising and overseeing annual giving. Directed all of the College s marketing functions and provided oversight for the College s publications and special events activities. Raised over $35 million during the capital campaign toward a $15 million goal.

Also participated in the development of the Corporation s strategic plan, and developed presentations and composed speeches for the CEO and two executive vice presidents. 3/96 to 1/97 Atlanta, GA Manager, Process Innovation Selected to serve on the Corporate Reengineering Team. Was involved in the radical redesign of business processes to achieve improvements in customer satisfaction, cost savings, revenue enhancement, product quality, and speed of product provision. The twelve-person team realized $20 million in cost savings during the first year of the implementation of the re-engineering plan. 2/89 to 3/96 Atlanta, GA Manager, New Products Lab (Marketing Department) Directed the development and implementation of business plans for new products. Evaluated marketing strategies, priced products, designed promotional campaigns, developed product distribution schemes, etc. Was responsible for generating revenues of over $6 million per year. Also developed the structure of the new products lab and hired over a dozen managers and assistant managers. Managed a budget of over $890,000. Served as Acting Director of the New Products Lab from 8/94 to 11/94 and was selected to direct new product trials for BellSouth Enterprises from 2/92 to 8/92. 3/87 to 2/89 Atlanta, GA Assistant Staff Manager, Scoping (Marketing Department) Coordinated, analyzed, and recommended Yellow Pages directory arrangements to meet customers needs and to ensure cost effectiveness. Realized cost savings of approximately $400,000 per year. 3/85 to 3/87 Birmingham, AL Assistant Staff Manager, New Products (Marketing Department) Developed, maintained, and supported South Central Bell telephone directory advertising items and product enhancements. The University of Alabama at Birmingham (1978-1985) 1/84 to 3/85 Birmingham, AL Director of Marketing, UAB Special Studies Analyzed markets, implemented marketing research, and developed advertising and promotion campaigns for the Continuing Education Division. 6/82 to 1/84 Birmingham, AL Marketing Specialist/Conferences, UAB Special Studies Developed and implemented marketing strategies for the promotion of all continuing education conferences.
