The ACOI 2016 Annual Conference TUESDAY, 8 TH NOVEMBER Compliance Landscape All Change or No Change? Radisson Blu Golden Lane Dublin 2
Introduction Dear Participant, On behalf of the Board of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland (ACOI) and its Executive, welcome to the Association s 2016 Annual Conference. 2016 has been another year of change and evolution in the day-to-day roles of our members and for the organisations they advise and support. We have seen some surprises in the form of Brexit and on the day when millions of Americans will vote for their new president, perhaps there are more to come? What is a certainty is that 2017 will bring further changes, as we prepare for and implement new European and domestic regulations and other regulatory requirements some of which our eminent speakers will be focusing on today, and develop further our understanding of the practical realities of the decisions taken in the United Kingdom in 2016. The theme or question our 2016 Annual Conference considers is, whether we are really facing significant change or whether in fact, following almost ten years of at times intense and immense changes as a result of the global and domestic financial crisis, constant change is par for the course in the modern Compliance and Regulatory landscape? Thank you for your attendance and participation today. Melanie Blake Chairperson, Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland
