: VENGEANCE (DEAD END 2) by David Stewart

1. FADE IN: EXT. GOTHAM CITY - NIGHT High above the streets, we see the cars and buildings below. The bright lights from below give the illusion of safety, warmth and comfort. EXT. STREET - NIGHT The time is around 01:45 AM. Everyone is at home. The street lamps light up the surroundings. Then, the peaceful night is disturbed by the sound of a banks alarms. A few moments later a black car storms down the street. EXT. ROOFTOP - NIGHT We see the car speeding away from the bank from above. Then the camera turns to the left and we see, Batman! He jumps off of the rooftop, and falls down several floors. The car is rapidly approaching where he would land. He whips out several Batarangs from his belt and throws them directly to where he would land. The car reaches that spot, and the Batarangs go through the front window. Batman takes out his grappling hook and fires it at a nearby street lamp. EXT. STREET - NIGHT It hooks on and he swings by the right side of the still speeding car. He takes out more Batarangs and throws them through the windows. The car turns to the left and smacks against a wall but continues to move. The grappling hook lets go of the lamp and reels back in. He flies through the air for several more meters and lands in front of a dead end. The car turns away from the wall and crashes into lots of garbage bags and cans. It stops. Batman puts the grappling hook back in his belt. He now stands almost completely covered by his cape. Only his eyes are visible against the black. The driver seat door opens and a man gets out holding a handgun. Batman quickly flings another Batarang at his head and he falls down. The right passenger door then opens. A man gets out slowly. We see him doing so from Batman s point of view, but we cannot make out who he is. He turns to face the car and we can see the right side of his face. He is wearing a grey jacket and pants. MAN Every time. (pause) Every damn time. Batman starts to slowly walk toward the car.

2. MAN Three of my best men here. An' you take 'em out like that. He clicks his fingers when he says "that." Batman continues to approach. MAN But no more. He takes a cigarette from his inside jacket pocket and puts it in his mouth. He then takes a lighter from the same pocket and fires it up. MAN This time, we finish it. Just you... an' me. He turns around and we see his face. It's Two-Face! The left side of his jacket and pants are black. It's over Harvey. Hey. When you're right... He takes out a shotgun from under his jacket. He cocks it. (cont'd)...you're right! Batman dives to the right and dodges a shot. He lands and then rolls to end up behind the car. Two-Face smirks. He turns away and starts to walk. Y'know, they might be some of my best men... He turns around again to face the car. (cont'd)...but that doesn't mean I like 'em too much! He fires several shots at the car and it explodes. He smiles again. Ha. Gotcha. He looks at the burning car.

3. He looks up. Wait a minute... My money!!! (from above) Psst, Harvey. Wha..? Batman is standing on a window ledge on the building next to the car. Got you. He flings two Batarangs. One hits Two-Face in the wrist, knocking the gun out of his hand. The other strikes him right in the throat, causing him to fall. Batman swoops down and walks over to him. He picks him up by his coat collar. Hope you like prison food. Ughh. Hope you like being worm food. Two-Face shoves a knife into Batman s stomach. ARGH! He throws Two-Face back. He takes the knife out and drops it. A quick fight scene follows and Batman manages to win. EXT. ARKHAM - NIGHT We see Arkham Asylum. Rain pours down. INT. OFFICE - NIGHT Batman and an Arkham officer are talking. Batman s wound is bandaged. The officer is sitting at a computer typing. Thanks for bringing in Two-Face Batman. Old Mr. Dent sure doesn't stay here very long.

4. He will now. Yeah. Uh, any word on the Joker? Be specific. Okay, have ya found him yet? No. Batman remembers talking to Joker that night. Oookay. Batman heads for the door. Uh, another thing Batman. He stands and then turns to face Jennings. Those, things that night. What were they? I don't know. Well for a detective you don't seem to know very much. They look at each other for a few moments. I have things to do. Don't we all. Batman leaves. *beep*. INT. CORRIDOR - NIGHT Batman walks down a dark corridor on his way from the office. As he walks, he remembers the creatures he fought.

5. We see several flashback sequences of him fighting the Alien and the Predator. We then see how the original film ended. Then there is more, we can see Batman being forced to team with the Predators to beat the Aliens. A short battle follows. After, only Batman and the Samuri Predator remain. Batman is badly injured. It spares him and leaves. EXT. ARKHAM - NIGHT He reaches the main front doors of Arkham and walks outside into the pouring rain. He takes out his grappling hook, and leaves. INT. OFFICE - NIGHT Jennings looks at several monitors showing what the security cameras are picking up. He looks one of the basement cameras. The basement has been flooded. He gets his radio. Damnit. (to radio) Crawford. Crawford are you there? Yep. We got a flood in the basement, all that damn rain must have got in. Go check it out. Why don't you go? I have to watch the monitors dumbass! *Sigh* Fine I'm on my way. INT. BASEMENT - NIGHT Crawford walks down some steps into the basement. He is carrying a torch. He stands on the floor. The water is waistdeep. He searches around for a few moments. He finds a large hole in the ceiling where the water is coming in from. The hole looks like it was made by some sort of animal. Scratch marks are everywhere.

6. (to radio) Hey we got a hole in the ceiling here. Looks like something big tore it's way through. You tryin' to tell me some kind of monster in there? C'mon man, how old are you? Only monsters in this world are men like Dent and Joker. Oh yeah, how about that Killer Croc guy huh? Or... Doomsday? Get your ass up here. I'll call someone in to fix the damn ceiling. Crawford starts to go back to the stairs. Then, he falls into the water. He gets back up quickly, he tripped over a wire on the floor....phew.. He gets pulled under again, quickly. The water turns red. INT. OFFICE - NIGHT Jennings was watching through a monitor. Oh my God... He goes to get his torch and gun when suddenly the lights go out. We hear him searching for them. Oh God oh God The door slowly opens. We can't see what's there. W..wh..who's there? Something hisses. EXT. ROOFTOP - NIGHT Batman is on a rooftop, watching over Gotham. Something troubles him.

7. Something's wrong... He quickly makes his way to Arkham, he knows something is happening. INT. CORRIDOR - NIGHT In Arkham, Batman runs down a long corridor. The lights are flickering on and off. He reaches a door and slowly opens it. INT. CELL BLOCK A - NIGHT He enters cell block A. Gotham s most dangerous criminals are kept here. On the floor, three dead guards lay in a pool of their own blood. He slowly walks down the long hall, looking at the names on the cell doors as he walks past. Nigma, E. Wesker, A. Crane, J. Dent, H. He approaches one of the doors. The name on the front is 'Joker'. He looks through a small glass window into the cell, it is empty. He remembers talking with Joker that night again. He isn't sure if Joker is alive or dead. Then, a liquid drips from the ceiling onto the floor. He looks up, it is coming from an air-vent above his head. He slowly reaches for a Batarang, and an Alien rips through the vent. Batman jumps back and it lands on the floor. INT. DENTS CELL - NIGHT Two-Face looks through the glass to the Alien. Kill him... INT. CELL BLOCK A - NIGHT Batman throws the Batarang at the Alien. It ducks and it flies over its head. The Alien hisses and lunges at him. It lands on top of him and knocks him to the ground. It opens its mouth and its inner-jaws start to come out. Batman gets his grappling hook, and shoves into the Aliens stomach. He fires and the hook goes straight through it and into the ceiling. The Alien shrieks in pain. He reels the hook back in through the Alien and pushes it off of him. He stands up and throws a Batarang into its head. He looks at Two-Face, who is very disappointed. There are three loud gun shots nearby, and Batman runs off in the direction they came from.

8. INT. INFIRMARY - NIGHT Three guards try to shoot two Aliens but miss. The Aliens leap at them. INT. CORRIDOR - NIGHT Batman runs to the infirmary doors and as he reaches them, blood sprays over the windows from inside. INT. INFIRMARY - NIGHT He runs in, the guards are dead. The Aliens face Batman, blood dripping from their teeth and claws. He gets his 'Batblade' and stands ready to fight. One Alien jumps at him, he dodges to the left. Suddenly, a Predator drops through the ceiling sky-light! It lands next to the other Alien and slices its head off with his spear. Batman doesn't know what to do. The Alien in front of him goes for the Predator instead. They fight, and the Predator manages to slit the Aliens throat with its wrist blades. Batman gets ready to fight the Predator, but hears another Predator uncloaking behind him. He spins around, it is the red Samuri Predator who spared him after their last encounter. It simply smacks Batman to the side, nearly knocking him out. The two hunters start to leave, but Batman manages to throw a tracer at the Samuri, which lands on his back. They cloak and leave through the sky-light. THE FOLLOWING NIGHT EXT. GOTHAM CITY - NIGHT Batman goes off in search of the Predators. There is a rapid beeping sound. Batman lands on top of a building. He looks a tracking device which shows a red dot flashing and beeping, just ahead of his position. He looks forward, the signal is coming from a church. INT. CHURCH - NIGHT Batman walks in through the church doors and walks down the aisle I know you're in here! Come on out! He stands waiting. The Samuri Predator uncloakes in front of the statue of Jesus on the cross. Batman stares at it. The Predator stares at him. Then Batman opens up his cape to reveal an armored version of his costume. They begin to run towards each other. They fight brutally for several moments. Batman is now almost as strong as the Predator.

9. They fight more, and then the Predator grabs Batman and throws him back. It has two swords strapped onto its belt. It takes one, and looks to Batman. It throws it to him, and he catches. It then takes the second sword and stands ready to fight. Batman does the same. Then they battle for another several moments. They are evenly matched. The Predator manages to knock Batman s sword from his hand, and continues the fight. Batman then kicks the sword out of its hand and they go back to street-fighting. They do not hold back. The Predator grabs Batman by the throat and throws him against the statue of Jesus. Then it gets him by the throat again and throws him back down the aisle. The Predator starts to take off his helmet. He throws it aside, and we see his face. He has a large scar over his right eye. Batman is in serious pain, and the Predator starts to walk to him. It picks up Batman s sword. He gets up on his knees and the Predator places its hand on his head. It is about to kill him. But, he spins around, and with his Bat-blade he slices the Predator across the chest several times. It stands wounded, but does not give up. They fight once more for a short time. Batman rams his blade into the Predators chest, and it screams in pain. He lets go exhausted and falls to the ground. The Predator staggers back to the Jesus statue. It falls down. PREDATOR Hope... you like... being worm... food... Batman realizes that the Predator was there when he fought Two-Face. With a final deep breath, it dies. We see the church from outside. The camera starts from the bottom of the church and travels to the top. On the roof, there is a large cross. Batman is standing on top of it. (voice over) After something like this, I wonder if I am doing the right thing. I can never stop everyone from being in danger. Gotham needs a protector. This is my city. And I will defend it, with a vengeance. To his right, the Bat-Signal lights up the dark sky. He looks to it. We continue to see the same thing, but through a Predators eyes... END
