CURATOR'S REPORT THE BERLIN AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY NOVEMBER 10, 2015 GARY AND MELVA JEAN GLESSNER AND "THE KINLEY" VICTORIAN BABY CARRIAGE" On November 21, 2015 Gary and Melva Jean Glessner, who are relocating to Preston, Maryland, placed on loan the above pictured ''The Kinley" Victorian Baby Carriage. It was purchased in the early 1900's for Vernon Coughenour by his parents Alec and Maggie Coughenour of Glen Savage. It has passed down through the family for many years and in 2010 was given to Gary and Melva Jean when they moved to Allegheny Township. Gary is a son of Ray Glessner and a grandson ofjames Alexander Glessner. James A. Glessner was a grandson son ofalec Coughenour and a son of Harry and Pearl (Coughenour) Glessner. The Harry Glessner and Alec Coughenour families were two early generation owners of what many of us remember as the former August and Carmen Kern farm, at the edge of Glen Savage. Since 2010 Gary and MelvaJean have resided on the farm at 1028 Dividing Ridge Road in Allegheny Township where Charles "Chuck" R6bb grew up as a youngster. Gary and MelvaJean constructed a new house on that property.
