HIGH LEVEL FORUM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: CONTEXT HLF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE : Decided by the HLF Community during the HLF 2016 at Grenoble on Sept 27 th 2016 ( see post-event report ) Composed of High Level Key Actors from selected HLF Leading Innovation Ecosystems, having participated to a recent HLF edition, strongly supporting the HLF initiative, deeply connected to the various Actors of their respective Ecosystem having vision and experience about Innovation management and promotion Chaired by the HLF Coordinator With Members from America, Asia, Europe and Middle-East Meeting once a year during the HLF edition, exchanging through regular Conf Calls (every two months ) 2

High Level Forum Coordinator Alain Astier Alain Astier is currently president of start-up's in the fields of Consulting, Connecting and IoT; he currently serves as Scientific Advisor to the CEO of CEA Tech www.cea-tech.fr, the Technology Branch of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA ) and since January 2016 he is the Coordinator of the "High Level Forum" www.hlf-giant-grenoble.org. Previously during almost four decades, Alain Astier has served in the Microelectronics Industry where he has occupied several positions in the field of Silicon Operations, mainly at corporate and international level where he has terminated as Group Vice-President of Front-End Technology and Manufacturing ; Alain Astier has developed several cooperation programs between many Semiconductor Ecosystems in the world and he is a firm believer that Networking and Collaboration are the fundamentals for the progress of our Economies and Societies. 4

Benoit Balmana is an engineer in Mechanical Engineering, with additional training in project Management. He has 20 years of experience working in the field of innovation. Benoit has worked in France for a transfer technology office and for a venture capital company, dedicated to early stage investment. In 2006, he joined the start-up NANOLEDGE which specializing in nanocomposites, to ensure the corporate and business development of the company. From 2010 to 2016, Benoit Balmana has been President and CEO of NanoQuébec where he defined and implemented a new strategy to promote nanotechnology as sources of innovation and competitiveness. He is now Director of IVÉO, an innovation ecosystem dedicated to smart and sustainable transportation in Québec. Benoit Balmana 5

Dr. Toshihiko Kanayama began research on semiconductor technologies at the Electrotechnical Laboratory in 1977, and moved to the Joint Research Center for Atom Technology (JRCAT) in 1993 to develop atomic-scale technologies. From 2001, he headed the Advanced Semiconductor Research Center at AIST as its executive director. In 2008, he became the Director of Nanodevice Innovation Research Center. After serving as a Vice-President and subsequently the Senior Vice-President of AIST from 2010 to March, 2017, he is now a Fellow at AIST. Dr. Toshihiko Kanayama 6

Dr. Alex Peng, Vice President of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and General Director of Material and Chemical Research Laboratories of ITRI ( MCL, ITRI), specializing in Energy Materials, Electronic Materials, Strategy and R&D Planning, is now actively promoting global collaboration between academia, R&D institutes and industry, especially in the area of sustainable environment and new materials & circular economy. Jean-Charles Guibert graduated early 80 s in Polymer science. During is career in CEA (French RTO), Jean-Charles was actively involved in microelectronics in Leti, then Director for the Technology Transfer activities of CEA, and is now advisor to the chairman. In addition, Jean-Charles Guibert is Director of MINATEC, one of the largest innovation campus worldwide. Jean-Charles Guibert is an expert for multiple authorities in charge of innovation and is Doctor Honoris Causa of INRS - Université of Quebec / Canada. Jean-Charles Guibert 8

Ulrika Lindmark is a 52 year old civil engineer from Sweden. She has been working more than 25 years mainly as a property developer. She is since three years the CEO of Science Village Scandinavia AB - a property development company related to the research facilities ESS and MAX IV in Lund, Sweden. Ulrika Lindmark 9

Wayne D. Kaplan currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Research at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. He is a full professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Technion. Kaplan's research activities focus on the structure, chemistry and energy of interfaces between metals and ceramics, with a focus on the correlation between thermodynamics (continuum) approaches and the atomistic structure and chemistry of interfaces. Fred Farina Fred Farina is Caltech s Chief Innovation and Corporate Partnerships Officer. His responsibilities include commercializing inventions made at Caltech and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL/NASA) through the creation of new startup ventures and partnerships with established companies. His office is responsible for evaluating inventions, supervising patent prosecution and portfolio management, negotiating licensing deals with industry, assisting Caltech/JPL entrepreneurs with the creation of new startup companies and establishing research collaborations with industry. Prior to joining the office, Frederic worked as a research engineer in the GPS field at JPL and the University of Miami. He subsequently joined a law firm where he prosecuted patent applications on various technologies before the U.S. and European patent offices. Fred holds a "Diplôme d'ingénieur" in Electrical Engineering from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquees, Lyon, France, and is a graduate of Caltech from which he received a Master s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1992. He is a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Fred Farina 11

To assist GIANT for implementing the governance initiatives decided during the Forum HLF 2016 To submit initiatives to HLF Community for developing and promoting Innovation within and between the HLF Ecosystems To always encourage collaboration between the HLF Ecosystems To contribute to the international promotion and recognition of the HLF initiative 12
