Hop Hop 8/10 Maintenance Maintenance and care of the metal parts Notes about cleaning the powder-coated surface: - Only use clear water, if necessary with a little neutral cleaning agent added (ph 7) and soft, non-abrasive rags, cloths or industrial cotton. Do not rub hard. - Remove greasy, oily or sooty substances with aromatic-free petroleum spirits or isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Residues of stickers, chewing gum or adhesive bands, etc. can also be removed this way. - Do not use any solvents that contain esters, ketone, alcohols, aromatics, glycol ether or halogenated hydrocarbons or similar substances. - Do not use anything abrasive that will scratch. - Do not use strong acids or alkali cleaning agents. - Do not use cleaning agents of indeterminate composition. - The cleaning agents may not be used at temperatures that exceed 25 C. Do not use steam cleaning devices. - The surface temperature during cleaning may also not exceed 25 C. - Immediately after each cleaning, rinse with clear, cold water. Notes about refurbishing scratched steel parts: These recommendations will help refurbish a damaged surface. We ask you, however, to consider that refurbishment to the original surface quality is unfortunately not possible. A tolerance of the painted surfaces to cleaning agents, etc. which may be used to clean the surfaces must also be checked in each individual case and considered. The quality of the repairs made depends largely on the skill of the person making them. Unfortunately it is not possible to guarantee a particular result. The metal parts are made of hot-galvanised steel. They have a high-quality coating with a slight metallic pattern. Their colour is anthracite, similar to DB 703 metallic or RAL 7024. A single-component nitrocellulose paint with matte surface in the colour tone NCS 7500 N should be used to repair the powder coatings. The notes and warnings of the manufacturer in question apply for handling of the selected materials. Please do not forget to protect the surfaces against use and manipulation until the curing time recommended by the relevant manufacturer for the materials processed has elapsed.
Hop Hop 9/10 Maintenance Maintenance and care of the larch wood slats There are three surface treatments from which to choose. Untreated: Like all natural wood, untreated larch wood develops a beautiful silver-grey patina after weathering for a time. This protects the wood against UV rays naturally. Many of our customers like this optical transformation of the surface and they regard it as an authentic quality of the natural wood. Maintenance work for untreated wood is very easy, for it usually involves just sanding the surface. Transparent stained: For customers who would like a wood look but no greying of the surface, we offer the slats with a transparent stained finish. The stain is water-based and allows diffusion. It is applied in a medium coating thickness. The stain colour is reddish brown and darker than the natural colour of the larch wood, for it is the colour pigments that protect the wood against greying. In order to maintain a beautiful look, we recommend applying a maintenance coat of stain once a year. For this purpose, on request we can make available a pigmented natural oil glaze in a suitable colour tone. Opaque painted: Select from a collection of sixteen colours. The high-gloss paint is water-based like the transparent stain and it allows diffusion. It is also applied in a medium coating thickness and it is extremely UV-stable. Small and larger damage can be covered over easily with a maintenance coat of paint. This makes maintaining the slats extremely easy and helps keep the product looking good for a long time. For this purpose, on request we can make available a paint in a suitable colour tone. For the care of undamaged slats: Clean the slats, remove dust from them and if necessary degrease with soapy water or white spirits. Apply the natural oil or paint with a brush or cloth once. For damaged slats: Remove flaking glaze and loose parts. Sand weathered places down to the healthy wood. Clean the slats, remove dust from them and if necessary degrease with soapy water or white spirits. Then coat the whole slat once or twice with a brush. The notes and warnings of the manufacturer in question apply for handling of the selected materials. Please do not forget to protect the surfaces against use and manipulation until the curing time recommended by the relevant manufacturer for the materials processed has elapsed.
