API C2 / SC 17 SUBCOMMITTEE ON SUBSEA PRODUCTION SYSTEMS API RP 17G2 Subsea Pumping Well Intervention Systems TASK GROUP STATUS 11 JANUARY 2017
1. INTRODUCTION 2. STATUS The 17G2 document addresses subject matter and technology relevant to subsea pumping well intervention systems. The purpose of a subsea pumping well intervention system is to pump fluid into or out of a subsea well. Subsea pumping systems typically involve a spooled fluid conduit with the fluid conduit not being rigidly attached to the subsea well similar to a top tensioned intervention riser system. No tooling is conveyed through the fluid conduit, therefore, the mode of operation for these subsea pumping well intervention systems is considered to be riserless. A subsea pumping well intervention system consists of a group of components and equipment packages that could comprise a standalone system or may supplement part of the permanent installed subsea system infrastructure operated together as a system. Ballot Comments for the first draft 17G2 document were received in August 2016. Responses for each comment was addressed by the subcommittee and distributed to all individuals who provided comments. In addition, Working Draft 2 was also distributed and inclusive of updates from comment resolution proposals. A general session face to face meeting was conducted in October 2016 in an effort to allow 17G2 members and those individuals outside of the subcommittee who provided comments to review the proposed resolutions and gain consensus. The outcome of that meeting resulted in updating the document in its current format as Working Draft 3. This latest draft will be sent out once a successful vote of the parent documents (17G and G1) is obtained. Working Draft 3 is comprised mainly of editorial changes to make improve readability along with a few supplemental technical tables and technical updates for clarification. It is the aspiration of the 17G2 subcommittee to send Working Draft 3 out for vote as a first edition Recommended Practice once the parent documents receives the required affirmative votes. -1- [11Jan17 Winter Mtg]
