Prcess: Students were shwn Lenard da Vinci s Mna Lisa and Frida Kahl s Self-Prtrait with Thrn Necklace and Hummingbird and were asked t cmplete a Venn diagram. Afterwards the class discussed the tw pieces t examine the artists intent and characteristics f style. A 2 nd Venn Diagram dcuments student grwth frm the pre-assessment. The art assignment was t create a realistic self-prtrait using crrect placement and facial prprtin with pencil and Sharpie n white paper. Secndly, students were t create a symblic Day f the Dead prtrait r self-prtrait using marker, tissue paper, and glitter n white paper. As a culminating activity the student evaluated and analyzed their wn wrk in a final Venn Diagram and wrte a shrt explanatin fr their preference in type f prtrait.
