Message from Honourable Chancellor: Everything is energy and that s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics. Albert Einstein. The foundation stones of REVA University are laid on the essence of academic pursuit and excellence. As truly expressed by the leader of the African-American Civil Rights Movement, excellence in any work can be achieved with utmost dedication, hard work, and perseverance. We, at REVA, have made this dictum our motto and our way of life in every single activity in the campus. Every school in our University strives hard to bring about the holistic development of our students, so that in the long run the REVAITES are trained to become successful individuals in their chosen fields of study and can contribute to the development of the nation. Research and development form the backbone of our curriculum at REVA. The staff and students are engaged in various path-breaking innovative research activities all throughout the year. Every school of our University organizes conferences, seminars and workshops frequently on contemporary and relevant topics in order to facilitate research in those areas which will lead to necessary metamorphosis in the academia as well. The School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at REVA, right from its inception, has been devoted towards the creation of an up-to-date academic environment for its students and research scholars. With the commitment of highly qualified and efficient staff, the school endeavors vigorously to make a mark in the field of research and development.

Message from Vice Chancellor: Francis Bacon said Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man. Conferences bring together people of varied experiences and provide an opportunity to everyone to share their thoughts. Mutual participation and high quality deliberations create inspiring learning environment resulting into innovative ideas. Today s industry expects such inputs to bring home new innovations and inventions. The National conference on Recent advances in control strategies for integration of Distributed Generation sources to grid and control of their power quality issues organized by the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, REVA University, Bangalore gives a detailed deliberations on use of renewable energy sources and their impact of power quality issues on electrical distribution system. This conference will provide a wonderful opportunity to enhance their skill in implementing the renewable energy sources for energy security of India. This conference proceedings being bought out on this occasion, I presume will be of great source of information to the academicians, scholars and industrialists. I congratulate the organizers and wish the conference a great success. Dr. V. G. Talawar Vice-Chancellor, REVA University

Message from Registrar: I am extremely happy to note that School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, REVA University, is organizing the National Conference on Recent Advances in Control Strategies for Integration of Distributed Generation Sources to Grid and Control of their Power Quality Issues. The science and engineering research conducted in academic institutions, industry, R&D Laboratories and elsewhere plays a critical role in raising our standard of living, creating jobs, improving health and providing for national security and development. I am sure that the conference of this type will inculcate the much needed research culture among the students and teachers and trigger interactions among researchers to exchange the ideas of recent advances in the areas of power, energy sectors. I wish the conference a grand success. Dr. M. Dhanamjaya Registrar, REVA University,

Message from Principal Director: I am delighted to note that the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is organizing the National Conference entitled Recent Advances in Control Strategies for Integration of Distributed Generation Sources to Grid and Control of their Power Quality Issues. Certainly, this type of conference not only brings all the researchers, students at one platform, but it also inculcates the research culture among the entire fraternity of education in the country, thereby, contributing to the development of nation. I hope that this conference would certainly induce innovative ideas among the participants paving way for new inventions and technological advances in the distributed energy generation, smart grid technology, ways and means for mitigating power quality issues. I Congratulate, all the faculties of School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for initiating the conduction of such a wonderful conference on the very important subject of national importance, at our esteemed University. I wish the conference a grand success. Dr. S. Y. Kulkarni Principal Director, REVA University,

Message from Director Planning: REVA University is the place where excellence in knowledge, research, creativity, and innovation come together to produce the next generation of thought leaders in academia and across a multitude of ways that chart the national and global futures. We re committed to the success of all of our students. We provide resources such as an intensive and supportive experiences for students, ongoing academic advising by peers, faculty and staff, and complete infrastructure. Students take advantage of the opportunity to participate in research projects with our talented and dedicated faculty. High quality deliberations lead to high quality publications which feed into the industry's innovation pipeline. Industry expects such inputs to create innovation and the next big things. So a conference gives the participants a wonderful opportunity to express them, giving such quality output and to add to the body of knowledge. The conference has reviewed articles to maintain the quality interactions and publications by using feedback from reviewers and anti plagiarism software. I am proud of our students, our faculty and staff, and the contributions they all make to the vitality of our region. I take this opportunity to congratulate all our staff and faculties of School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and to wish the conference a grand success. Dr. N. Ramesh Director Planning, REVA University,

Message from Director, R&I: Research and Innovations in REVA University is regarded as one of the most important activities besides teaching and learning. The university with dedicated & qualified faculty, dynamic research scholars, moderate research facilities, well drafted research quality assurance guidelines, and supportive management provides an excellent ambience to pursue research. Research circles, mentored by senior faculty members are active in all the schools and are primarily responsible for cultivating interdisciplinary research cultures in students and faculty. The university encourages dissemination of research outcomes to the society through conferences such as this one being organized by the school of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, so that scientific debates trigger exchange of ideas among the research community resulting in solutions for the welfare of the society. I congratulate the school director, coordinators, reviewers, students and faculty for their contributions to this conference and I wish the researchers all the best for their future research endeavors. Dr. B. P. Divakar Director, R&I, REVA University,

Message from Director, School of EEE: Due to the acute shortage of energy from conventional route is alarming to go in for renewable energy sources and distributed power generations to meet the future energy security of India. This conference aims at giving exposure to the renewable energy resources and its potential impact in India by the well known technocrats & experts in the field of distributed power generation and grid operation. This conference provided the platform to young researchers to present their research work in domains related to developing reliable smart grids to achieve energy efficiency, enhancing reliability of electrical distribution system, minimizing losses, etc. The Technical committee of the conference has reviewed articles to maintain the quality interactions and publications by using anti plagiarism software and feedback from reviewers. The conference provides a platform for researchers to get networked and exchange the ideas for further progress in research and development. High quality deliberations will lead to high standard publications which feed into the industry's innovation pipeline. Industry expects such inputs to create innovation and the next big things. Thus a conference provides participants a wonderful opportunity to express them, and to contribute to the body of knowledge. I want to congratulate all my staff and faculty members of School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering for their constant effort in conducting this conference with whole heartedly.
