FNSHNG Join Squares nstructions are provided for crocheting Squares together. f you prefer, you can sew the Squares together to make the Scarf. Following Assembly Diagram, lay Squares onto a flat surface. With F, join Squares together as follows: Working along line where sides of 2 Squares meet, and working through both Squares at the same time, join F with a sl st in corner of both Squares. Ch 1, sl st into edge of both Squares; working evenly along these joining edges, continue to work through both Squares in the joining pattern of *ch 1, sl st through both Squares; rep from * across. Continue to join along rows of adjoining Squares. Fasten off and rejoin yarn as needed until all Squares have been joined. Scarf Border Rnd 1 (RS): From RS, join F with an sc anywhere along outside edge of Scarf, *ch 1, sk next st, sl st in next st; rep from * all the way around the outside edge of the Scarf; join with sl st in first sc. Rnd 2: Sl st in first ch-1 sp, *ch 1, sk next st, sl st in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last st, ch 1, sk last st; join with sl st in first sl st. Fringe Cut 84 strands of F about 23 in. (58.5 cm) long. For each fringe, hold 3 strands of F together and fold in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of Scarf, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make 14 fringe along each short end of Scarf.
Divide fringe into groups of 3 strands each, then follow Knotting Diagram to knot the groups together. Trim fringe evenly. Weave in ends.
