Learn to sew with vinyl, how to apply bias tape, which stabilizers to use for what effect, the benefits of using your walking foot, and how to use a teflon foot. Machine Embroidery Classes and Clubs (continued) Hoop Sisters Club Quilt as you go. Make a beautiful quilt over 10 months with all of the quilting done in the hoop. 5,6,7,8 or 9 inch blocks can be done on any machine with at least a 5x7 hoop. You don't have to bring your machine to class - stay for a one hour demonstration and take the monthly design on your own flash drive to stitch out in the comfort of your own home. Jerry Hunter 1st Tuesday of every month Time: 6pm to 7pm Cost : $10 Heirloom Block of the Month Club This class is offered four times each month for your convenience and meets ten months of the year. This club allows the students to learn how to use their large hoops, design positioning, and for those that do not have design positioning will learn how to re-hoop and line up while working on oversized designs. For the beginner, it is best to start with a quilt called Block Party unless you are overly enthusiastic and go right for the Latte Quilt. We have a few smaller quilts or wall hangings that are also good to work on. This year, we will be adding a whole cloth quilt to the list! A Gardener's Alphabet Block of the Month This class will be done in block of the month style where you will come, pick up your embroidery design, go home stitch it out and then come back and color the block. Each month we will use different coloring techniques. You can stay and color in class or you can go. It is up to you. If you need help with placement you can get it in class. Embroidery & Sewing Technique Classes NEW! In our new Embroidery & Sewing Technique Classes, we will explore different machine feet, accessories and hoops until we know them inside and out. Some of the classes will be open to specific machines; others will be based upon certain feet, accessories and hoops. In all classes, you will create sample fabrics and embroideries that can then be integrated into projects of your choice. NEW! Circular Attachments - A Sewing Technique Class During this class, you will finally learn how to use that Circular Attachment! We will be working on two different ways of using the attachment to create pieces that can then be turned into pillows, quilt blocks, tote bags, etc. In the first, you will create an applique pig using various circles and arcs stitched with different sizes of satin stitches. In the second, we will add decorative stitches and different types of fabric to the skills learned in creating the pig. This class is open to specific circular attachments only. Other Classes Need Help? This is a class where you can get the exact help you need. There are so many things that we sometimes just need a little extra help with and we don't always know how to get it if that is true for you then this class will do it! Perhaps you don't have time for a club but you want to go further using your sewing/embroidery or software but you have questions, then there may be help for you. Have you sewn all your life but left it for a while to do something else and now you want to get back into it by making something but need help getting started, come on in and get that help. Or you took that quilt class but now it is over and you don't remember how to finish it up. You need that little bit of help to continue on, come on in.
