Lay out all parts and hardware on the floor or on a table in the order of their number or letter. This will familiarize you with the parts and also help you find a part when you re ready to assemble it. Usually there is a small sticker on the part with the designating letter or number that matches the letter or number in the instructions. If that sticker is missing, look at the drawing in the instruction parts list, and try to recognize the part by its shape or characteristics like holes or grooves. We have provided both text and a drawing in each step, so using both will help the most. Orient the parts so you view them exactly as they are shown in each step. To use Cam Locks - 1. Insert Cam Bolt until snug 2. Set boards together 3. Insert Cam Lock 4. Turn Cam Lock clockwise (half a turn) Do not overtighten Note arrow direction If it won t turn halfway, back out the Cam Bolt ½ turn and try Cam Lock again. For a more permanent and stronger assembly, use glue (not included) with Dowels - 1. Add glue (about ¼ full) in the hole(s) of each board to be joined. 2. Insert the Dowel(s) and join boards. 3. Wipe excess glue with a damp paper towel. IMPORTANT: Before assembly, separate the inner slides from the outer slides. 1) Pull the inner slides from the outer slides, exposing a small, black safety release tab. outer slide 2) Push the safety release tab in the direction shown, then continue pulling to separate the slide halves. Step 5 Use three Large Dowels (5) to align the Large Back (E) to a Lower Right Side, Medium Back (F) to the other Lower Right Side, and Small Back (G) the Upper Right Side. 5 3 Step 6 Insert two Cam Bolts (1) and three Large Dowels (5) in the holes of the Large Top (H). Step 7 Insert four Cam Bolts (1) and four Large Dowels (5) in the holes of the Large Top (H) and Medium Top (I). Step 11 Insert four Cam Bolts (1) and three Dowels (5) in the holes of the Base (J). Use Cam Locks (2) to secure the Base. 1 4 2 4 5 3 Step 12 a) Use two Round-Head Screws (11) to attach the Magnet (15) to the Small Top (A). b) Use one Short Screw (7) to attach the Metal Plate (16) to the inside of the Door (L). c) Use one Knob Screw (17) to attach the Knob (12) to the Door. d) Insert the two Hinge Pins (6) in the holes at the top and bottom of the Door. e) Notice the Pins are spring-loaded. Step 13 Assemble the Large Drawer: a. Use four Screws (13) to attach the Drawer Right Side (O) and Drawer Left Side (N) to the Large Drawer Front (M). Use two Knob Screws (17) to attach the Knobs (12) to Large Drawer Front (M). b. Slide the Large Drawer Bottom (Q) to the slots of the Drawer Sides and Front. c. Use four Screws (13) to attach the Large Drawer Back (P) to the Drawer Sides. d. Use four Screws (13) to attach the Drawer Support (V) to the Large Drawer Front/Back. e. Step 15 Note: If you also ordered the Mandarin Tansu Cabinet, see the next page. a) Use two Round-Head Screws (11) to attach a Bracket (19) to the back edge of the Top. b) Place the unit in the desired location. Hold the other Bracket against the wall, directly behind the Bracket on the unit. Note: If you also ordered the Mandarin Tansu Cabinet and want to stack these two pieces together, attach the anti-tip hardware after this step. a) Set the Step Cabinet on the Main Cabinet. b) Use eight Round-Head Screws (11) to attach the Connectors (22) to join the Main Cabinet and Step Cabinet as shown. c) Follow Step 15 to attach the anti-tip hardware.
