Designated Use The RAMSES 784 HF thermostat and receiver REC 1 868 MHz (single channel) are suitable for wireless room temperature regulation. The RAMSES 784 HF timer thermostat radio-controls receivers REC 1 by time and room temperature. It may only be used in dry, domestic environments. The receiver is to be installed near to an electrical appliance with a maximum current draw of 6 A, e.g. mechanical mixer valve. The appliance is switched on and off independent of the radio-transmitted room thermostat control signal. Safety Instructions WARNING Danger of death through electric shock or fire! Installation should only be carried out by professional electrician! Mounting and Electrical Connection 11 5 OK -> Do not mount the device on an even conductive base. 1. Lower the front cover. 2. With a screwdriver turn the seal 11 to position. 3. Lift the grey plinth from the control section. 4.Fix the plinth to the wall approx. 1.5 m above the floor, if possible on an internal wall, against which air can circulate without hindrance. 5. Fit the clock thermostat to the plinth. 6. Turn the seal 11 into position with a screwdriver. -> Keep the ventilation apertures 5 in the plinth free, no paint, wallpaper or other such material. 16

The clock thermostat is battery powered. Depending on switching frequency, you must change the batteries after approx. 12 months. First time of operation: 1. Note the polarity of the batteries. 2. Place the batteries in the battery compartment. Battery change necessary: LED 3 flashes Action: Change the old batteries within 3 weeks. If action not taken: Changing batteries: Recommendation: The LED is illuminated after this for a few days continuously. Afterwards the clock stops, the heating switches on continuously, but is not controlled. 1. Take out the used batteries. 2. Dispose of the batteries in an environmentally friendly way. 3. Use only new similar type alkaline cells LR6. 4. Note the polarity and fit the batteries. Check the batteries from time to time. Leaking batteries damage your product. REC 1 The device is designed for installation on DIN top hat rails (in accordance with EN 60715) or for wall installation with wall installation set A B C D Override switching C1 ON/OFF Status display channel C1 Level display for reception quality Antenna connection 17

REC 1 Connection is made at terminals 1, 2, 3. * * Circulating pump, actuator for radiators etc. -> For the connection of a boiler (gas/oil) use the connecting terminals 1-2 (in accordance with manufacturer data). Installation and Operation For operation of RAMSES 784 HF follow the sections: REC 1 1. Alignment of the antenna Assumption: The product REC 1 is connected to mains voltage. For optimum reception, the antenna must be in a vertical position. In a few exceptional cases, interference signals can be received from the surrounding area. Depending on the strength of the interference several LEDS may be illuminated. -> Align the antenna in such a way that as few LED s as possible are illuminated. -> Do not install the antenna near water or electrical circuits! 2. Optimising the reception quality The channel C1 at the receiver must be OFF, i.e. the corresponding status display(s) (LED) must be OFF. To connect RAMSES 784 HF to the power supply and set time etc., follow the instructions: -> Set rotary switch on the back (printed circuit) of RAMSES 784 HF to position 10 HF-Test. 18

The room thermostat now transmits for 15 mins. at regular 3 second intervals. The control display on the receiver and the channel status display light up during this cycle. During the test phase, the location of the regulator and therefore the reception quality can be optimised. The relays are not switched. -> Place the controller in the desired living area. Optimal Reception: When all LEDs are lit during transmission. However, at least one green LED must be lit. Premature cancellation: -> Set rotary switch to position 1 Automatic. Reception quality can, if necessary, be improved by the rod antenna available as accessory equipment. 3. Override Switching REC 1 Switch channel C1 ON/OFF: -> Briefly (approx. 1 sec) press button C1. Channel ON The LED on C1 lights up. Channel OFF: The LED on C1 goes off. 4. Verifying codes/codierung Transmitting and receiving products are already tuned and coded to one another in the factory. First test of channel C1 (e.g. Room 1) When control unit REC 1 is in view: -> Set rotary switch on back (on printed circuit board) of RAMSES 784 HF to position 10 Test-HF. The LED on channel 1 and the level indicator light up briefly. 5. Clearing codes Attention: Please cancel the previous code before fixing/coding the new one. -> Press the C1 button on REC 1 for approximately 10 secs. The LED of C1 is illuminated and goes off again after 3 secs. The coding is cancelled. Test: -> Run the Test-HF function on room thermostat. The level indicator illuminates. The LED on C1 (C2) should not be lit. Repeat the procedure if necessary. 19

6. Re-coding Several products can be used in a residential unit without them having a negative effect on one another. Coding of Channel C1 (eg. Room 1) -> Press the button C1 of REC 1 approx. 5 secs. The LED on C1 flashes for approx. 10 secs., during which the Coding function on the room thermostat must be run. -> Set rotary switch on the back (printed circuit) of RAMSES 784 HF to position 9 Coding. The level display on the receiver lights up briefly. Test: If you run the Coding function again, the channel status display lights up as well as the level display. 7. Response to a fault Transient malfunction: The relay's switching status is not affected because the switching commands are transmitted several times. Transmission failure: The receiver switches to emergency mode after two hours, relay switches in cycles, 2 mins. on, 8 mins. off. Power failure: Relays fall idle. The previous switching status is saved and resumed when the power is returned. The relays resume their correct switching status after a maximum of 30 mins. 20

Only for Qualified Electrician Electronic feed-back The clock thermostat is set in the factory to usual heating systems in practical operation. If, as a consequence of the heating system, an adjustment is necessary, select the recommended setting on the potentiometer (rotary knob) 4. Pos 1: 4 Pos 2: for floor heating/ bi-metal mixer/ oil furnance for slow mixing valve Pos 3: for circulation pump/ rapid mixing valve Pos 4: for gasheating/storage heating/magnetic valve Adjustment of the operating point 8 The clock thermostat is adjusted in the factory. If re-setting is necessary due to the place of installation e.g. a cold cement wall, the measured temperature deviation can be corrected with the pentiometer 8. Example: Controlled temperature too high -> Turn the potentiometer (rotary switch) in anti-clockwise direction, see illustration. 24 After the roomtemperature is stabilized, repeat if necessary.
