Better than that, though, is that many of my closest friends in the world are my colleagues in The Woman Advocate. If you could attend only one ABA Section of Litigation Meeting, which one would you attend and why? The Section Annual Meeting. My true favorite is Corporate Counsel but if you can only attend one, it's important that it be the one at which you can get ALL you need and stay connected to what's really happening in the Section. That's the Section Annual Meeting in the Spring.

My answer goes to both of these questions. I joined the Woman Advocate Committee because of its focus on the challenges facing women litigators, and the fact that my firm at that time had very few role models. I have continued my membership because of the fantastic and amazing women involved in the Committee. From these women, I have learned everything from how to be tough yet not act like a man, to how to deal with the older male partner who is adjusting to your transition from associate to partner, to different ways to handle the balance of work and family. And the Committee consists of some fun people, whom I enjoy seeing at the meetings.

Not only did I learn a great deal from them but was motivated to increase my efforts at mentoring at my firm.
