Finding Ancestors Using the Family History Research Wiki The Family History Research Wiki is an extremely valuable tool we can use to learn how to find information on our ancestors. It offers information on how to find, use, and analyze records of genealogical value. This guide will show you how to find specific information on an ancestor by using the Wiki to Search by Locations. You will need to know the possible location of an event you are interested in as well as the time period. An easy way to get to the Research Wiki is from familysearch.org. From the Category page you can scroll down to the subcategory, United States and click it for an extensive listing of categories and pages useful for U.S. research.. In the upper right area of the screen, click. Use the index by clicking on the letter U for United States or scroll down to find the U section and then click on United States. Although Kentucky enacted a statute in 85-86 requiring registration of births and deaths, many counties did not comply. A second law was written in 87-879, and 89-90 but, again, was not always followed. By 9, the law was more clearly defined and kept by 90. Any existing births 85-960 and death records 85-95 can be accessed online. See How to Find Kentucky Birth Records and How to Find Kentucky Death Records for links to indexes and images. Original marriage records are held at the office of the Fayette County, Kentucky Clerk, with divorce records 89-958 located with the Fayette County, Kentucky Circuit Court. For more information see How to Find Kentucky Marriage Records. For Kentucky divorce records see the wiki page Kentucky 5 Birth 85-86 - Fayette County Birth Index 85-86.
