Palomar Mountain and the Crater Lake Monster Created by Peter Brueggeman with materials and information from Bill Stromberg, and with video screen captures. Bill, thank you for your friendly helpfulness. Peter After dark, Ross Conway and Paula Conway are in a boat on a lake. Ross: You know Paula, this is quite a change. Moonlight on a gorgeous lake, no manufactured illusions here. Paula: It s beautiful, so peaceful. Look at all the stars. I ve never seen so many. SPLASHING OF WATER Paula: What was that? Ross: I don t know. Just a bird or a fish or something BUMPING AND ROCKING OF BOAT Paula: What was that?. A meteorite crashes into a lake birthing a monster, and then things start to happen. Palomar Mountain was one of several locations for shooting this film. Palomar Mountain locations included the Sasway cabin on lower Crestline Road just up the road beyond the fire station, along Road S6, and Summit Grove gas station and restaurant. Cast/crew stayed at Skyline Lodge at the end of Crestline Road. In film publicity, special thanks were given to several people including Oliver Brown of Skyline Lodge, Bev and Ralph Kulk of Summit Grove, and Carl Bergman. Directed by William R. Stromberg Written by Richard Cardella and William R. Stromberg Produced by William R. Stromberg Complete film credits on imdb.com
