Warning ATTENTION: RISQUE DE CHOC ELECTRIQUE NE PAS OUVRIR An equilateral triangle enclosing a lightening flash/arrowhead symbol is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product s enclosure which may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. An equilateral triangle enclosing an exclamation point is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and service instructions in the literature enclosed with this unit. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using this electronic device, basic precautions should always be taken, including the following: 1. Read all instructions before using the product. 2. Do not use this product near water (e.g., near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, etc.). 3. This product should be used only with a cart or stand that will keep it level and stable and prevent wobbling. 4. This product, in combination with headphones or speakers, may be capable of producing sound levels that could cause permanent hearing loss. Do not operate for a long period of time at a high volume level or at a level that is uncomfortable. If you experience any hearing loss or ringing in the ears, you should consult an audiologist. 5. The product should be positioned so that proper ventilation is maintained. 6. The product should be located away from heat sources such as radiators, heat vents, or other devices (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 7. The product should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the product. Replace the fuse only with one of the specified type, size, and correct rating. 8. The power supply cord should: (1) be undamaged, (2) never share an outlet or extension cord with other devices so that the outlet s or extension cord s power rating is exceeded, and (3) never be left plugged into the outlet when not being used for a long period of time. 9. Care should be taken so that objects do not fall into, and liquids are not spilled through, the enclosure s openings. 10. The product should be serviced by qualified service personnel if: A. The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged. B. Objects have fallen into, or liquid has been spilled onto the product. C. The product has been exposed to rain. D. Controls & Connections 6 3 4 11 12 13 DIGITAL ECHO EFFECT ECHO LEVEL ECHO LEVEL ECHO LEVEL ECHO LEVEL ECHO VOL REPEAT 1 5 2 10 7 8 9 FRONT PANEL Note: 1 through 6 below are referenced to Channel 1. The other 3 Channels are identical. 4 1. LINE INPUT 1/4" (6.3mm) jack for a mono signal line level input 2. CHANNEL VOLUME CONTROL Adjusts the channel output level 3. TREBLE CONTROL Adjusts the amount of treble in the signal with cut/boost range of -/+15 db 4. BASS CONTROL Adjusts the amount of bass in the signal with cut/boost range of -/+ 15 db 5. MIC INPUT Balanced XLR input jack [Pin 1 = Ground, Pin 2 = Hot (+), Pin 3 Cold (-)]. 6. ECHO LEVEL CONTROL Controls the amount of echo/reverb in the channel signal 7. MASTER VOLUME CONTROL Adjusts the level of the master signal. If the Send/Return effects loop is connected to an external effects device, that unit's level controls will determine the final volume [see also RETURN JACK (15) below] 8. POWER SWITCH Turns the unit ON or OFF. Always turn level controls down before turning on the unit. 9. POWER ON LED INDICATOR Indicates when the amplifier is ON. 10. CD/ TAPE VOLUME CONTROL Adjusts the level of the signal input to the stereo CD/TAPE RCA jacks (17) in the output master signal. 11. ECHO VOLUME CONTROL Adjusts the level of the digital echo effects volume in the output master signal. 12. DEPTH CONTROL Adjusts the amount of depth in the echo signal. Turning this control clockwise changes the echo/reverb effect in a manner similar to increasing the size of a room in which you are getting natural echo/reverb. Experiment to find desired effect. 13. REPEAT CONTROL Adjusts the length and number of repeats in the echo signal. At "0" you will get a single echo with depth determined by the setting of the Depth control (12). As you adjust the control clockwise toward "10", you will get an increasing number of repeats for a longer time and also the interval between repeats will widen. Experiment to find desired effect.

19 FUSE 2A SLOBLO CAUTION RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN RISOUE DE CHOC ELECTRIOUE NE PAS OUVRIR FUSE 115/230VAC AC IN CD / TAPE SPEAKER CAUTION: TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK. DO NOT REMOVE CHASSIS. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK REPLACE ONLY WITH SAME TYPE FUSE AND RATING. DO NOT EXPOSE THIS POWERED MIXER TO RAIN OR MOISTURE. EFFECTS LOOP RETURN SEND 20 18 17 16 15 14 REAR PANEL 14. SEND JACK 1/4"/6.3mm TS phone jack. Connects the MPM 480 to the input of the external effects unit. The Send/Return effects loop utilizes the signal from the master mixer and is before the amplifier. Normally, with no plug in the Send jack, this master signal is routed straight through to the amplifier. If a plug is connected to the Send jack, it will interrupt the master signal, and the signal must be routed back through the Return jack (after processing by the external effects device) or there will be no signal to the amplifier. When using the Send/Return effects loop, set the final volume of the MPM 480 with the output level control of the effects device being used. 15. RETURN JACK 1/4"/6.3mm TS phone jack. Connects the MPM 480 to the output of the external effects unit. The volume of the MPM 480 is controlled by the level input to the return jack, which is just before the amplifier, and so is adjusted by the volume control of the effects device being used in the Send/Return effects loop. 16. MONO SPEAKERS OUTPUTS Two 1/4" (6.3mm) jacks, each powered by its own separate amplifier output stage, for connecting one or two 8 Ω speaker cabinets. CAUTION: Do not overload the MPM 480 with speaker loads less than 4 Ω as this will degrade performance and may harm the unit. 17. CD/TAPE JACKS Two RCA jacks for inputting a stereo signal from a tape or CD source. This signal is mixed into the master signal with the CD/Tape volume control (10). Although the input signal may be stereo, it will be automatically mixed into a mono signal for amplification by the MPM 480, so relative balancing of left and right signals must be done by the stereo level controls of the source output. This CD/Tape input is, in effect, a 5th input to the MPM 480 and allows added flexibility in mixing in external music sources. 18. POWER CORD CONNECTOR This standard IEC receptacle is used to connect the AC power source to your powered mixer. Power requirements: 115VAC or 230VAC (see 20 below) 19. FUSE HOLDER When the fuse blows, replace it with the same type fuse, size and power rating (see SPECIFICATIONS). If it continuously blows, stop using the unit and have it serviced by qualified personnel. 20. VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH For selecting the proper voltage (115/230VAC) to match the power supply in your area. 5
