EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 3 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Preparation work The shore does not necessarily need to be levelled because Easy- BoatRoller is built to be supported only at the horizontal supports. Concrete slabs, impregnated planks or small-diameter round timbers can be placed under the horizontal supports to prevent them from sinking into soft ground and to make it possible to align the rails. On a sandy beach, it is necessary to prevent the sinking of the horizontal supports because otherwise sand can rise into the rails and prevent the wheels from turning. When installing on solid rock, it is necessary to prevent the dock from moving by drilling mounting holes into the rock. Drill the holes at the location of the holes located on the ends of the horizontal bars and attach the dock using anchor bolts, for example. The most important thing is to attach the top horizontal bar and to add attachments in between if needed. Tools required for assembly 19 mm box-end wrench and socket wrench (installation of rails and winch) 2 pcs 17 mm box-end wrenches (installation of winch) 10 mm socket wrench (installation of stairway planks) 13 mm socket wrench (installation of planks of tray) Cordless drill and ratchet 5 mm drill bit (installation of planks of tray) 8 mm hex head wrench (mounting of wire to v-body)
4 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Assembly of rail parts Begin assembly by using bolts (M12x25) to attach the bottom rail pairs that go in the lake with the horizontal supports (Figure 1). Assemble two or three rail pairs based on how far the bottom rail pair is taken into the lake. Lift the horizontal support from the ground by placing a plank under it while installing mounting screws. This makes it easier to install bolts. NOTE! Also install tray stoppers (Figure 2) on the bottom horizontal support. Bring the bottom rails into the water into place. Assemble the rest of the rail pairs. When bringing the rails into a lake, use some kind of supporting element to help out, such as a barrel. When the rails are in a suitable place, remove the supporting element and the rails will sink to the bottom.
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 5 To prevent the wheels of the tray from getting stuck at the joints of the bars, install the bars without any staggering (Drawings A and B). A B Assembly and installation of tray First assemble the tray and then install it on the rails. Attach the planks that combine the v-bodies into place. Install the planks on top of the v-bodies and attach them from below with lag bolts (8x50 mm) (pilot drilling with 5 mm drill to prevent splitting of planks). 5 cm Attach the planks about 5 cm above the v-body on the motor end (Figure 3), and about 20 cm above the v-body on the top end (2.5 m plank), about 70 cm over (3 m plank) and about 1 m over (4 m plank).
6 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 4 The planks can be installed into either the outside or inside holes according to the shape of the hull of the boat (chine moldings etc.). However, make sure that they are at the same place on both sides. Attach the planks to the right places using vices, for example, before mounting them. Use a square for assistance. Check the cross-measure of the tray before final attachment. If you are using elevation blocks, attach them first with lag bolts. After that, attach the long planks on top of the elevation blocks. Use TX flat head screws (6x90) as shown in the figure.
Place the v-body that is coming above the stairway such that the wire s attachment hole is on the side of the stairway. Push the v-bodies of the tray from the top of the rails so that the wheels go inside the U- bars (Figure 5). Prevent the tray from sliding into the lake during installation! EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 7
8 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Using elevation blocks If the boat is longer than 5 m and the shape of the hull of the boat is steep (keel is close to ground level), elevate the boat tray by placing elevation blocks under the long plank (B). Choose the number and structure of wheel axels according to the weight of the boat. B When the shore is steep (more than 15 of rise per meter of distance), we recommend you use elevation blocks (A) that are installed on the lake end. A
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 9 The keel of the boat touches the v-body. - Boat lifted with elevation blocks sufficiently high. - Side guides touch the side of the boat
10 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Side guides Adjust the width of the side guides according to the width of the boat and tighten screws (Figures 8 and 9).
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 11 Assembly of stairway and attachment to rails Use the separate spare parts drawing to help in assembling the stairway.
12 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Installation of stairway Push the wheels of the stairway from the top of the rails into the middle of the rails (Figure 10). The distance between the stairways and the lake end of the tray is equal to the length of the boat (see drawing below). Attach the stairway to the wire of the winch (see image on previous page). Check the distance when you drive the boat to the dock for the first time.
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 13 Installation of winch Install the support bar of the winch onto the top horizontal support with two screws M12x120 (Figure 11). Attach the winch to the mounting plate with three screws M10x30 (Figure 12).
14 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Final steps Check the straightness of the rails and the strength of supports you have installed under cross supports. Clean wheel paths and lower the tray into the lake. Drive a boat carefully unto the planks of the tray and check whether the bottom of the boat lands on them properly. If necessary, move the planks. Also check to make sure the bottom of the boat is not damaged when you drive on the tray. The outboard motor should be lifted a little bit so that it does not strike the dock. Drive the boat on top of the tray so that the ends of the planks stay at the level of the rear-view mirrors or a little inside. If necessary, adjust the distance of the stairway from the bow of the boat. Attach the boat to the stairway using a flexible rope on the railing. Attach the other end to a bollard or bow loop on the deck of the boat. Pull the boat onto the dock with the winch.
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 15 Installation of truck wheels (VR-1000) In the VR-1000 model, truck wheels are installed only on the lower end of the tray.
16 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Installation of truck wheels (models VR-1500, VR-2000) In the VR-1500 model, truck wheels are installed on the lower end and the middle support of the tray. In the VR-2000 model all wheels are dual wheels.

18 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Installation of walking platforms
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 19 Walking platforms outermost plank drilled three 6 mm holes for the lock plate (part 3) installation. Holes are drilled 30 mm from edge and end of plank 100 mm and 1150 mm distance from edge and other end of plank also 100 mm from the end on the same side. Frame (part 1) is attached 50 mm and 1182 mm from end of plank and also 50 mm from other end of plank as it is shown in picture. For mounting use 6 x 40 mm cover screws (part 5). Then fasten the lock plates (part 3) with M6x40 head screws to holes that are drilled before. Use washer (part 4) and fasten with nut (part 7) so that lock plates still go round but are tight as possible. Turn lock plates away before you set down the walking platform between the rails. Then turn lock plates below u-rails, against the frame (part 1). Lock plates is up to prevent the rise of walking platform so that they can t hit the sledge when boat is moved.
20 EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions Safety Check periodically to make sure the cross supports have not sunk or moved, and that the rails are in alignment. Before lowering a boat, make sure there is nothing in the way of the wheels. If the tray gets stuck on the rails, do not lift or lower it by force; find out the reason and remove the obstacle. Winches used in the EasyBoatRoller are strong and can break the device or a boat if they are used to pull a boat by force. Make sure nobody is in front or behind or otherwise dangerously nearby whenever you are loading or lowering a boat. If the winch requires maintenance, lower the boat first into the lake. If possible, prevent the tray from moving during maintenance. Do not let children use the winch of the dock without supervision. Supervise the movement of children and people in poor condition from and onto the boat. Instruct adults on how to use the dock. Read the operating instructions of the winch. Do not exceed the maximum carrying capacity.
EasyBoatRoller - Installing instructions 21 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Pulling a boat onto the dock Drive the boat carefully onto the tray so that the bow of the boat touches the stairways. Attach a flexible rope to the bow of boat. Pull the boat on top of the dock using the winch. Lowering a boat into a lake Load the boat (do not exceed the maximum carrying capacity) and lower the boat into the lake by turning the winch handle. When the boat become free of the tray and floats freely, stop the lowering. Remove the rope from the bow of the boat and attach it to the stairway. Push the boat or drive in reverse to get away from the top of the tray. Service Underwater grease should be put into the hub of the wheels each spring at the start of the boating season. The planks of the tray should be replaced if they are cracked and can damage a boat. Use the right length of screws for mounting so that they do not go through the planks and damage a boat. Replace the steps of the stairway in time if they are damaged. Remove sand, grass and other dirt from rails as needed. Check the attachment of the wire of the winch in the v-body of the tray.
