2017 ANNUAL REPORT

The Alaska USA Foundation is celebrating its fourteenth year of providing financial support to organizations with programs that benefit children, veterans, and active duty military and their families. Since its inception in 2003, the Foundation has distributed more than $1.7 million to organizations and is honored to assist those that provide direct services in support of the Foundation s mission. In 2017, contributions were made to local and statewide organizations in Alaska, Arizona, California, and Washington that would receive the greatest benefit from the Foundation s support. Accordingly, contributions totaling $221,302 were made during the year to 35 eligible organizations supporting 39 programs. A balance of $284,986 in unallocated funds at year end provides a positive start for contributions in 2018. Revenue from membership, contributions and fundraising activities for the fiscal year totaled $338,622. The Foundation had 26,325 active members at fiscal year end. The Foundation wants to acknowledge and thank Alaska USA Federal Credit Union for its fundraising assistance and administrative support. The credit union s assistance has allowed the Foundation to contribute 99.99% of its total income to qualifying organizations. Looking ahead to 2018, the Foundation will focus on increasing membership, improving community awareness of our mission and purpose, increasing member and community engagement, and further developing fundraising activities. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank the volunteers that donate their time and energy to promote and fundraise for the Foundation and to the membership and corporate sponsors for their support of the Foundation s mission. Geoff Lundfelt President
