I just finished a totally scrappy twin top using Charm Packs and love it. I supplemented with some additional fabric from my stash. Fabric Options: 1. Scrappy Totally Scrappy great for use with Charm Packs. Good with Fat Quarters, Fat Eighths, and other larger scraps. 2. Scrappy with every block in a different fabric. 3. Non-Scrappy use coordinating fabrics You can use solids or prints.. anything that is recognizable in a 5 square or smaller. Inside Border (striped) Fabric 5 by WOF strips 2 6 7 from these strips cut 5 by 14 rectangles 4 5 by 41 rectangles 5 by 68 rectangles (these need to be pieced) 2 2 4 Background Fabric 5 by WOF strips 4 15 21 into 5 squares 32 118 168 2 by WOF strips 2 8 11 into 2 squares 40 157 220 Colored Fabrics 1. Totally Scrappy GREAT use for 5 charm packs. 2. Scrappy with each block in a different colored fabric. Cut the following colored fabrics: Baby/Lap Twin Full Number of different fabrics 9 fabrics 35 fabrics 49 fabrics For each colored fabric cut: The number of squares varies with the block you are making. I cut these squares right before making the block to avoid wasting fabric. (2-4) 5 squares per fabric (4-5) 2 squares per fabric Make the Blocks: 1. Sew the 9 Patch centers first. Sew 3 rows. Press to the colored fabric. Sew rows together nesting seams. Press these rows in either direction. 2. Sew the rest of the block. Sew 2 or 3 rows depending on the block. Press to the colored fabric.
