Wireless Video Surveillance Backhaul Solution Point-to-point (P2P) video surveillance backhaul (recommended) WDS Point-to-Multipoint (P2MP) video surveillance backhaul Usage scenarios Safe city and long-distance video surveillance Deployment rules The line of sight (LOS) distance must be ensured between the root AP and leaf AP. That is, no obstacle exists between them. The root AP and leaf AP set up a WDS line on the 5 GHz frequency band. The root AP and leaf AP models must be the same, and both use 5 GHz directional antennas. A high gain is required in a longer distance (up to 10 km). In actual projects, it is recommended that one root AP be connected to a maximum of three leaf APs. The link setup rate depends on the distance between the root AP and leaf AP, antenna gains, and AP radios. 3
Wireless Data Link Solution Branch network data wireless backhaul WDS AC PC LSW Coverage AP Usage scenarios Temporary branch offices and long-distance branch offices Deployment rules For WDS deployment precautions, see "Wireless Video Surveillance Backhaul Solution." The coverage AP registers with and goes online on an AC through a WDS link. WDS links allow packets from wired and wireless service VLANs of branch offices to pass through. If the bandwidth of one WDS link is insufficient, set up multiple WDS links for data transmission. Configure the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) to prevent loops. 4
Wireless Link Backup Solution Wireless link backup between buildings WDS Usage scenario Link backup is enabled between buildings for temporary emergency backup in case of wired link failures, improving network reliability. Precautions For wireless link backup solution precautions, see "Wireless Video Surveillance Backhaul Solution." Configure STP to prevent network loops. 5
