REQUIREMENTS: Images: 5 images are required; 4 images of work and an image of your booth set-up with artwork as presented at art fairs. The booth image is a reference; you are not juried in for all work in the booth image. You are juried for the body of work represented in the images of your artwork. APPLICATION and BOOTH FEE: Two Checks - made payable to Art in Speed Park must accompany completed application. Mail to: Art in Speed Park PO Box 262 Sellersburg, IN 47172 $25.00 Application Fee - This fee is non-refundable. $300.00 Single Booth $500.00 Double Booth There is a $25 fee for any check returned for insufficient funds to Art in Speed Park. Artists will be responsible for paying this $25 fee to AISP. Artist s own white canopy. Large booth spaces 11 x11 AISP strives to give all artists adequate storage behind booths where available. Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Booth fees will be refunded, less $50.00. No refunds will be honored if cancellation is made within 30 days of Art in Speed Park. LOAD-IN & LOAD-OUT: As an outdoor fair, Load-In and Load-Out s are structured around weather conditions. Normally, vehicles are allowed to drive into the park, right to your booth. However, if the ground is wet, artists will park on nearby street and dolly works to your booth. During fair hours, there is a designated artist s parking area within the park grounds. Be prepared for all weather conditions. AWARDS Best of Show and six Merit Awards. Award winners will automatically be accepted into the art fair the following year. Best of Show award winner will receive a complimentary booth space for the following year in addition to award monies. Artist s Awards Dinner Presentation follows the show on Saturday evening, at Speed Park. AMENITIES AND SERVICES Vehicle access to the Fair site, as well as easy access during set up/teardown. Private security, as well as patrolling town police during and after Fair hours.
Artist Hospitality: morning coffee, juice and pastries, access to indoor restrooms, free cold water, and booth-sitters on a limited basis. Awards dinner for artists and sponsors, Saturday following the fair at Speed Park. Saturday lunch delivered to your booth, after noon. Discount at host hotel, within two miles of the art fair. MEDIA CATEGORIES Art in Speed Park reserves the right to re-categorize an artist s submission. Every attempt will be made to notify the artist if this is done. 2D Mixed Media: Two-dimensional work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece. Collages are a good example of this artwork. 3D Mixed Media: Three-dimensional work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece. Ceramics: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural. Digital Art: Includes any original work in which the original image, or the manipulation of other source material, was executed by the artist using the computer. (Digital photo editing within the confines of what could be done in the darkroom is allowed in the photography category.) Work must be in editions, signed and numbered, using archival papers, inks, and emulsions. Drawing: Work created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax, crayons, etc. or from a fluid medium of ink. Reproduction prints are not allowed. Fiber: Includes leather, baskets, paper, wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing or other forms of mass production are accepted. Factory-produced wearable items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artists, are not accepted. Furniture: Original, handmade furniture designed and fabricated using raw/unfinished material. Factory-produced items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artists, are not accepted. Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted. Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. All jewelry, whether produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, or other materials must apply in this category. Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this
category. Painting: Acrylic, oil, gouache, and watercolor paintings are accepted in this medium. Reproduction prints are not allowed without expressed permission by director of Art in Speed Park. Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography that has not been manipulated to achieve results beyond what could be done in a traditional darkroom. Only artist s original source material is acceptable. Work must be in editions, signed and numbered on archival material and all work displayed in the booth must be for sale. Printmaking: Only hand pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed and numbered. Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium. Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved. ARTIST NOTIFICATION Artists will be notified of their status on or before May 15, 2017 via email. Rules/Regulations Before applying, please make sure your work meets the following criteria. By applying you agree to abide by the rules, policies and decisions of the Art in Speed Park organization. Art in Speed Park is a highly selective fine art fair. Participating artist s booths will be visited periodically throughout the fair by the jury committee to ensure compliance with the rules. Artists will be required to remove all work that is not in compliance. Persistent and/or major violation of the rules may result in expulsion from the fair and ineligibility for future fairs. 1. All work must be original, handcrafted work which complies with the media definitions. 2. Work must be designed and created by the artist solely, in partnership with a collaborator, or with assistants working under the DIRECT supervision of the artist in the artist s OWN studio. 3. No reproductions of original work are allowed, without the approval of the Art in Speed Park committee. 4. No commercial products are allowed. 5. Artists may only show work in categories approved by the Jury. 6. All work exhibited must be of the quality and type of that shown in the juried images. Art in Speed Park reserves the right to ask an artist to remove work that does not meet this requirement.
7. Artists must be present with their work for the entire two days of the Fair. If the work is collaborative, each collaborator must be present. All artists must check in at Registration upon arrival. Photo ID is required. 8. NO Buy/Sell. Anyone identified as presenting work, not of their own crafting will be asked to leave the fair immediately. 9. Artists are responsible for collecting, reporting and paying all taxes. Promotion: Extensive media coverage will be provided by radio, television, billboards, newspaper and various publications. Art in Speed Park is a highly anticipated event and receives great media coverage. Art in Speed Park will also be broadcasting live from Speed Park on Saturday morning of the art fair, along with our media partner WHAS News our ABC television affiliate station.
