The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! 1. Touchsystems are of course becoming more an more important, also in industrial markets.

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! Innovative touchsystems for patients

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! Innovative systems for health!

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! Innovative systems in the automation technology!

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! 1. Touch, for a lot of forward-looking applications!

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! 1. Touch, for a lot of forward-looking applications! But the membrane keyboard won t die!

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! In future there will still be applications with the need of classical, electromechanical input-systems If a tactile Feedback is necessary there are only keys and no display, respectively only a small one the operater can not focus on the input system and he has to work intuitionally the system has to work in rough environment the costs for a keypad are lower compared with a touch-system the combination with a touch is requested (fixed defined keys) special safety standards are required..

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! If the operater can not focus on the input system and he has to work intuitionally! You know this situation! I m sure, you will be glad, that he has not to use a touch panel simultaneously!

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! Special installation situations make the use of touches nearly impossible!

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! We produce quite a lot of systems, which are a combination of touch and standard keys. (fixed defined keys)

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! If there are only keys and no display, respectively only a small one

The Membrane-Keyboard will survive! If special safety standards are required High safety standards demand a high level of reliability, especially when it comes to operating devices and machines. This can be achieved by the use of keypads with two-stage key functions, this is why we offer the keypad with a double-contact function in different versions. The user can easily distinguish between two switch functions, and TÜV requirements for two separate switch levels are easily met.

Outline 1. Touch, not always! The membrane keyboard won t die! 2. Copper vs. Silver a philosophy! 3. Profiline shielded technology 4. Illuminated Keyboards! 5. Silk-Screen-Printing vs. Digital Printing - established meets modern

Copper vs. Silver What does that mean?

Copper vs. Silver What does that mean? Finally, it s a matter of production-philosophy! However named, there are significant differences!

Copper vs. Silver What does that mean? Finally, it s a matter of production-philosophy! However named, there are significant differences!

Copper vs. Silver The particular feature is the use of high-quality, copper-clad foils as the basis of the membrane keypads. These basis foils are galvanically silver-plated and can also be gold-plated on request. The copper-laminated material is extremely flexible, so there is almost no possibility of breaks to the membrane cable, and problems such as silver migration are practically impossible.

Copper vs. Silver As a result, you also have the advantages of circuit-board technology in the keyboard: Soldering of components instead of gluing High load capacity of the copper tracks if deformed Inured to bowing e.g. in the mounting process No silver migration High, reproducible layer thickness High functionality and product reliability

Copper vs. Silver Soldering of components instead of gluing One important advantage of the copper technology is, that electronic modules can be SMD-inserted and soldered. Using the silk-screen printed silver technologie LED s have to be glued on. This is of course a disadvantage regarding mechanical stress.

Copper vs. Silver Soldering of components instead of gluing Soldered LED s with a high mechanical load capacity SMD-assembly for an economic production

Copper vs. Silver Soldering of components instead of gluing The task was: Realizing a seven-segment-display in a low-cost indicating- and adjustment-unit in a special application!

Copper vs. Silver Soldering of components instead of gluing A seven-segment display realised in a low-cost keyboard with high quality and an economic production of several thousand pcs.!

Copper vs. Silver Soldering of components instead of gluing Also a seven-segment display realised in a keyboard with snap domes and embossing! Of course the price of this version is higher!

Copper vs. Silver Soldering of components instead of gluing Also a seven-segment display realised in a keyboard with snap domes and embossing! Of course the tactile perception is much better!

Copper vs. Silver High load capacity of the copper tracks if deformed Inured to bowing e.g. in the mounting process In the case of a difficult assembly situation

Copper vs. Silver Silver migration Silver migration is the directional move of silver ions on the surface of insulating materials under the influence of an electric field. The chemical precipitation leads to conductive bridges between circuit paths, which can cause a short circuit and the unintentional release of a key. 3 Phases: 1. Electrodissolution 2. Move of the silver ions on the insulationg material in a humidity film 3. Electrodeposition of silver because of deoxidation of the silver ions

Copper vs. Silver Silver migration

Copper vs. Silver High, reproducible layer thickness of the copper conducting paths

Copper vs. Silver High, reproducible layer thickness of the copper Based on the different production processes and raw materials!

Copper vs. Silver High, reproducible layer thickness of the copper Copper-clad polyester foil and on the other hand

Copper vs. Silver Copper circuit path with positions for snap-domes and LED s, 2-level

Copper vs. Silver High, reproducible layer thickness of the copper Silk-screen-printed silver with higher tolerances

Copper vs. Silver Conductive silver Of course, we also offer membrane keypads which are produced with a switchbase made with printed conductive silver. In general our customers prefer this technology when financial aspects are the main factor. When compared to a membrane keypad with copper-laminated base membranes, membrane keypads which use conductive silver technology can more quickly reach their technical limits when there are applications with many keys (and/or LEDs) on a small area.

Copper vs. Silver Silver-Screen-Printing, of course, is the more cost-effective way of production

Copper vs. Silver Silver-Screen-Printing is the more cost-effective way of production and if necessary, very cheap. Realisation of a keypad without snap-domes!

Outline 1. Touch, not always! The membrane keyboard won t die! 2. Copper vs. Silver a philosophy! 3. Profiline shielded technology 4. Illuminated Keyboards! 5. Silk-Screen-Printing vs. Digital Printing - established meets modern

Profiline With this membrane keyboard design and type of manufacture, we have succeeded in providing a haptically and ergonomically striking input system with outstanding signal characteristics for many industrial demands in operating environments for vehicles, lifting devices, warehousing and..

Profiline Also in a lot of different industry sectors!

Profiline With a very high embossment

Profiline Up to 1,5 mm!

And.. New surfaces Anti-microbial decor material für membrane keypads and decor foils. Autotex AM protects against numerous strains of bacteria, e.g. MRSA, salmonella spp, etc. The hard-coated polyester foil incorporates Microban for built-in anti-microbial protection. If bacteria come into contact with Microban, its anti-microbial function splits the cell walls of the bacteria, so preventing their growth and reproduction.
