SULIT 2 Section A Bahagian A [20 marks] [20 markah] Answer one question only Jawab satu soalan sahaja 1 Figure 1 show a key which is made from metal casting technique where the mould pattern is made from wax. Rajah 1 menunjukkan anak kunci yang diperbuat menggunakan teknik penuangan di mana coraknya diperbuat dari lilin. Figure 1 Rajah 1 (a) State the casting method to make the key. Nyatakan kaedah penuangan untuk menghasilkan kunci tersebut. [2 marks] (b) With the aid of sketches, explain the work process of casting method in 1(a) above. SULIT 4 Section B Bahagian B [20 marks] [20 markah] Answer one question only Jawab satu soalan sahaja 3 Figure 3 shows a motorcycle brake system which uses hydraulic control. Rajah 3 menunjukkan sistem brek motorsikal yang menggunakan kawalan hidraulik. Figure 3 Rajah 3

SULIT 5 Calculate : Hitung : (a) The pressure applied on the piston in cylinder S1 if the diameter of piston S1 is 0.4m. Tekanan yang dikenakan pada omboh silinder S1 jika diameter omboh S1 ialah 0.4m. [5 marks] (b) The force produced by the pistons in cylinder S2 and S3 if cross-sectional area of cylinder S2 and S3 is 0.4m 2. Daya yang dihasilkan oleh omboh-omboh silinder S2 dan silinder S3 jika luas keratan rentas silinder S2 dan S3 ialah 0.4m 2. (c) The work done by cylinder S2 and S3 if the distance of cylinders is 15mm. [5 marks] Kerja yang dilakukan oleh silinder S2 dan S3 sekiranya sesaran kedua-dua omboh ialah 15mm. [5 marks] (d) The power produced on cylinder S2 and S3 the brake took 4 seconds to stop the front wheel Kuasa yang dihasilkan pada silinder S2 dan S3 jika brek itu mengambil masa selama 4 saat untuk memberhentikan roda hadapan.. Rajah 5 menunjukkan sebuah gambarajah janakuasa elektrik. Figure 5 Rajah 5 (a) (b) Explain why the electric power station will not function properly? Terangkan mengapa janakuasa elektrik tidak berfungsi dengan sempurna? [2 marks] (i) Sketch the modification to the diagram so that it will function properly. Lakarkan gambarajah pengubahsuaian supaya litar dapat berfungsi dengan sempurna. [2 marks] (ii) Explain the operation of the electric power station that has been modified in 5(b)(i). Terangkan kendalian janakuasa elektrik yang telah diubahsuai pada 5(b)(i). [14 marks] (c) State two advantages of this electric power station. Nyatakan dua kebaikkan janakuasa elektrik ini. SULIT 8 6 Figure 6 shows two hydraulic schematic control circuits which is use to push up the load. Rajah 6 menunjukkan dua litar kawalan hidraulik yang digunakan untuk mengangkat beban. Figure 6 Rajah 6 a) Determine whether you choose or reject each circuit depends on the characteristics given: Tentukan samada anda memilih atau menolak setiap litar itu berdasarkan ciri-ciri berikut: The piston move up slowly Omboh bergerak ke atas dengan perlahan The piston move down slowly Omboh bergerak ke bawah dengan cepat Flow control valve using electric energy Injap kawalan arah dikendalikan menggunakan tenaga elektrik.

SULIT 9 (a) Give three reasons for each circuit. Berikan tiga alasan anda bagi setiap litar itu. [12 marks] (b) Redraw and label the circuit choose at 6(a) and add the function given below. Lukis semula dan labelkan litar yang anda pilih pada 6(a) di atas dengan menambahkan fungsi seperti berikut. SULIT 11 (a) Explain the modifications that can be done to the circuit to solve the problems mentioned. Sketch a diagram to support your answer Terangkan pengubahsuaian yang boleh dilakukan pada litar itu untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang dinyatakan. Lakar gambarajah untuk membantu jawapan anda. [12 marks] (b) Sketch a block diagram to illustrate function of a rectifier starting from alternating current input block.
