JaxStax are a seven piece Soul Funk Band playing a selection of classic and presentday Soul Funk music hits. We are based in Hampshire, UK and are available to perform at weddings, parties, corporate events, charity events, clubs and pubs. Featuring musicians who have played previously with other big popular local bands (such as Rufus Stone, Big Red, Fat Bloke, Jack s House, Soul Survivors), JaxStax entertain audiences in venues from warm/cosy pubs right up to large major venues. Meet The Band Layla Lead Vocals Layla has been singing in bands since before she was born! Charlie Vocals Charlie has a rich history of singing, but she won t tell us about it. Steve Sax, Vocals The musical director of the band has previously played in Souled Out, Fat Bloke, Big Red and Jack's House. He enjoys collecting saxophones 6 at the last count! Dan Drums Dan has more drums than tattoos, but only just! Peter Guitar Peter has been playing in bands across the UK since the turn of the century on guitar and bass. His heart beats to the rhythm of pure funk! Martin Keyboards Martin has been playing keyboards since before they invented the white keys. Jules Bass Guitar Bassman Jules has previously played for Fat Bloke, Big Red, Jacks House & Soul Munky - "keep it simple & solid then everything else will fall into place"
Disco DJ Steve is pleased to be able to offer a full disco option, or basic background music to support the entertainment before and after JaxStax sets. He provides all his own equipment and is happy to play whatever style of disco/background music you would like for your event (although 70's/80's disco/funk is our favourite!!). He is also available for hire separately at very reasonable rates.
