Passepartout Concrete 4/6 Maintenance Maintenance and care of the metal parts Notes about cleaning the powder-coated surface: - Only use clear water, if necessary with a little neutral cleaning agent added (ph 7) and soft, non-abrasive rags, cloths or industrial cotton. Do not rub hard. - Remove greasy, oily or sooty substances with aromatic-free petroleum spirits or isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Residues of stickers, chewing gum or adhesive bands, etc. can also be removed this way. - Do not use any solvents that contain esters, ketone, alcohols, aromatics, glycol ether or halogenated hydrocarbons or similar substances. - Do not use anything abrasive that will scratch. - Do not use strong acids or alkali cleaning agents. - Do not use cleaning agents of indeterminate composition. - The cleaning agents may not be used at temperatures that exceed 25 C. Do not use steam cleaning devices. - The surface temperature during cleaning may also not exceed 25 C. - Immediately after each cleaning, rinse with clear, cold water. Notes about refurbishing scratched steel parts: These recommendations will help refurbish a damaged surface. We ask you, however, to consider that refurbishment to the original surface quality is unfortunately not possible. A tolerance of the painted surfaces to cleaning agents, etc. which may be used to clean the surfaces must also be checked in each individual case and considered. The quality of the repairs made depends largely on the skill of the person making them. Unfortunately it is not possible to guarantee a particular result. The metal parts are made of hot-galvanised steel. They have a high-quality coating with a slight metallic pattern. Their colour is anthracite, similar to DB 703 metallic or RAL 7024. A single-component nitrocellulose paint with matte surface in the colour tone NCS 7500 N should be used to repair the powder coatings. The notes and warnings of the manufacturer in question apply for handling of the selected materials. Please do not forget to protect the surfaces against use and manipulation until the curing time recommended by the relevant manufacturer for the materials processed has elapsed.
Passepartout Concrete 5/6 Maintenance Maintenance and care of the fibre concrete plates These recommendations will help refurbish the overall look of a damaged fibre concrete surface. We ask you, however, to consider that refurbishment to the original surface quality is unfortunately not possible. A tolerance of the repaired surfaces to substances which may be used to clean the surfaces must also be checked in each individual case and considered. The quality of the repairs made depends largely on the skill of the person making them. Unfortunately it is not possible to guarantee a particular result. For treating fibre concrete surfaces the following product can be used: Deep impregnator Item no C19/51 Fa. Poschacher Natursteinwerke GmbH & Co KG Poschacherstraße 7 A 4222 St. Georgen/Gusen T.: 0043 7237 3333-0 F.: 0043 7237 3333-444 E-mail: office@poschacher.com www.poschacher.com The fibre concrete plates we used are made industrially from a high-strength, extremely dense material which is homogeneous in colour and consistency. At the factory, they are given a colourless protective coating, which gives the surfaces a perfect look and offers additional protection against weathering influences. Damage such as spalling, scratches, etc. does not negatively affect the durability of the material, however it compromises it visually - we call this patina. In order to counteract this, the material can be treated with the Poschacher deep impregnator. It seals the damaged places and makes them less visible. Depending on the scope of the repair work, the deep impregnator can be applied with the brush (for small places, e.g. individual scratches) or, for large applications, with the foam or lambskin roller. Soiling from pens or paints can be removed with a lot of water and damp sandpaper. To remove soiling, we recommend using a 100-grade sandpaper. Then a fine sanding should be done with a 400-grade sandpaper (or finer). After drying, the surface must be sealed with the deep impregnator. For more detailed information about using the deep impregnator, see the manufacturer s instructions. Please do not forget to protect the surfaces against use and manipulation until the curing time recommended by the relevant manufacturer for the materials processed has elapsed.
