CHESS CONFEDERATION OF AMERICA FEDERACIÓN VENEZOLANA DE AJEDREZ CENTRAL AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP UNDER 20 ABSOLUTE & FEMALE Porlamar, Venezuela, from August 21 th to 29 th 2015 OFFICIAL INVITATION The Chess Confederation of America, the Venezuelan Chess Federation, the Nueva Esparta State Government, and Nueva Esparta State Chess Association have the honor to invite the following countries: Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Island, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Netherland Antilles, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Surinam, Trinidad & Tobago, and U.S. Virgin Islands, which belong to Central America and the Caribbean regions. The invitation is for participating in the Central America and Caribbean Chess Championship Sub 20 Absolute and Female 2015, to be held at five stars Venetur Margarita Hotel http://www.venetur.gob.ve/index.php/hotel/hotel-margarita.html from August 21 st to 29 th, 2015.
Margarita Island (Isla de Margarita) is the largest island in Nueva Esparta state, located in the eastern coast of the country on the Caribbean Sea. The capital city of Nueva Esparta, La Asunción, is located on the island. Primary industries are tourism, fishing and construction.
1. TOURNAMENTS There will be both: CAC Absolute and, CAC Female Chess Championship Sub 20, 2015 2. PARTICIPANTS The CAC Sub 20 Chess Championship is an Open tournament. Each Chess federation can register any chess player that they desire. The participants must not have reached the age of 20 before 1-1-2015. All the participants must cover their costs of participation such as registration, transportation, and accreditation. 3. SYSTEM PLAY In general, the tournaments will play under Swiss System to 9 rounds. According to Swiss Manager o Vega, with a time of 90 minutes with 30 seconds increase per move. 4. TIE BREAKS As stipulated in Fide s handbook 2014: Direct encounter if they have all PLAYED each other. The greater number of wins. Bucholz cuts Bucholz Sonneborn-Berger 5. REGISTRATION The player must be registered by their chess federation no later than July 31 st 2015, by sending their complete names, Fide ID, Passport Picture, Birth Data in this format: YYYY- MM-DD to the email: fvajedrez@gmail.com Such information must be confirmed at arrival showing the passports to the organizers.
6. COSTS OF PARTICIPATION All foreign participants must pay registration at the Tournament s hotel. All participants must be endorsed by their Fide recognized National Chess Federation. Each National Chess Federation may register one official player per category (one absolute and one female). Official players receive free lodging, and the meals in a double room (Dinner from August 21 st to Lunch on August 29 th ). They must pay their registration fee of US$100 in cash at arrival to the tournament. Which Includes CCA $ 15,oo and organizer fees of $ 25,oo The organization package for the foreign extra players is: US$350 double room (Dinner from August 21 st to Lunch on August 29 th ), and a registration fee of US$100 (include Transportation Airport-Hotel-Airport, accreditation, in cash at their arrival to the tournament. No player will be paired without meeting payment of registration fees on arrival to the hotel. The Venetur Margarita Hotel, is a five star hotel, with wi-fi everywhere, with swimming pools, restaurants (Buffet s meals), tennis courts, bar, green areas, private beach, marina, security watching 24 hours. It s near Shopping Centers and touristic places. There are direct flights from Maiquetia, Maracaibo, Valencia, Barcelona, Santo Domingo (Borderline with city of Cucuta, Colombia) Also charters or connections from Bogota, Buenos Aires, Curazao, Panama and, Trinidad & Tobago. 7. AWARDS The three first places will be awarded with trophies and certificates. Also, certificates will be delivered to all participants. The Champion Absolute in each tournament obtain the IM (WIM) title directly and, a GM (WGM) norm. The second and third places obtain the FM (WFM) title and an IM (WIM) norm. In case of tied on first place, in each tournament, the first three players tied obtain the IM (WIM) title.

Leaving day: August 29 th from 7:00 to 12:00hrs. 9. APPEALS COMMITTEE: The Appeals Committee shall consist of 3 members plus 2 reserves. The Appeals Committee shall be determined at the players meeting on August 21 st. If possible, three Federations shall be represented on the Appeals Committee. An appeal against the decision of an arbiter must be submitted in writing to the Chief Arbiter within two hours after the end of the playing session. The appeal must be accompanied by a fee of
US$50. This fee shall be refunded, if the appeal is successful. The Appeals Committee may also decide to refund the fee, if it considers that it was not frivolous.
