Applicatin Review Prcess Yur request fr an exterir alteratin will be put n the Resident Architectural Cmmittee (RAC) meeting agenda fr review. Yur attendance at that meeting is ptinal but if the change requested is very invlved, we recmmend that yu attend the meeting. The Cmmittee can then ask yu any pertinent questins regarding yur applicatin. If changes need t be made t the applicatin, they can be recnciled and apprved at the meeting that evening rather than hlding up yur prject if it must be tabled until the next scheduled meeting. Here are sme additinal pieces f infrmatin we wuld like t pass n t yu regarding yur applicatin and apprval prcess: Each cmmittee member is respnsible fr reviewing applicatins and making site visits prir t each meeting. The purpse f the meeting is t allw the cmmittee members t discuss the applicatin, with the ther cmmittee members, the Cvenant Advisr, and yurself. The Cmmittee uses the Drsey s Search Architectural Guidelines yu received with the purchase f yur hme. Additinal cpies are available at the village ffice lcated in Linden Hall. In additin, if yu reside in a twnhuse r cndminium, there are additinal guideline restrictins that pertain t yur respective assciatin. These can be btained frm yur Management Cmpany r assciatin if yu did nt receive them at clsing fr yur hme. These guidelines plus past-apprved alteratins are the basis fr the Cmmittee s decisin. We try t keep the guidelines as current as pssible but there will always be situatins where the guidelines d nt 100% reflect plicy established by past apprved applicatins. Please remember that yur applicatin is nt judged n the basis f what may r may nt be persnally pleasing t a cmmittee member. We try ur best t keep ur cncerns t issues addressed by the guidelines. There are alteratins that we may find persnally appealing but are nt allwed by the guidelines. Majrity als rules s the cmments r pinins f any ne member d nt necessarily reflect what the Cmmittee s decisin will be. There is a ten (10) minute discussin limit that applies t each applicatin. This is invked particularly when there are many applicatins n the Agenda. This assures that all applicatins can be acted upn in a timely manner. The RAC will review the applicatin and submit their recmmendatin t the Architectural Review Cmmittee (ARC) fr final apprval. The Architectural Review Cmmittee, in mst cases, agrees with the recmmendatin set frth by the RAC. The ARC designated sign-ff persn usually reviews applicatins the day after the architectural meetings. Yu will be ntified by mail f the final decisin in apprximately 10 days after the meeting. If yur applicatin is denied at the village level, there is an appeal prcess that yu may utilize if yu feel that the Cmmittee s decisin is nt apprpriate. Yur applicatin will be reviewed by a qurum f the Architectural Review Cmmittee, which cnsists f the Village Bard f Directrs. The Cmmittee thanks yu fr yur cperatin in making Drsey s Search Village a better place t live. The prcess that we fllw is fr the gd f all residents and if it may seem lengthy r invlved, please remember that we sincerely try t wrk with ur residents as much as we can t mve their applicatins alng. If yu have any cncerns abut the prcess, yu may cntact the Cvenant Advisr. If that des nt alleviate the cncern, the next level wuld be t cntact the Village Manager and/r Bard f Directrs at 410-730- 4005.

Drsey s Search Exterir Alteratin Applicatin General Infrmatin The Drsey s Search Cvenants and Guidelines require that all plans prpsed fr exterir alteratin t hmes and surrunding prperty be submitted t the village Resident Architectural Cmmittee (RAC) fr review and apprval. If residing in a twnhuse r cndminium, apprval frm the respective assciatin is required prir t submittal t the village RAC. Exterir alteratins include but are nt limited t the additin f prches, patis, decks, pls, fences, walls and majr landscaping. Applicatins fr such alteratins must include: a surveyr s site plan (plat plan) shwing all bundary lines with the lcatin f the hme and prpsed alteratins t the lt and adjacent prperties, a scale drawing f the prpsed alteratin with all dimensins and elevatins, a manufacturer s drawing r phtgraph if available, and a detailed list f all materials and clrs t be utilized. A cmplete descriptin f the Drsey s Search Architectural Requirements and Limitatins is cvered in Articles VII, VIII, X and XI f the Drsey s Search Village Cvenants. Cpies are available at Linden Hall. Residents are advised that certain alteratins, including all decks, pls and sme fences require a Hward Cunty Building Permit. Infrmatin can be btained by calling the Hward Cunty Department f Inspectins, Licenses and Permits at 410 313-2455. Hwever, the RAC will nt be respnsible fr seeing that residents acquire such permits. This is the resident s respnsibility. Residents als are urged t call Miss Utility @ 800 257-7777 fr free infrmatin n the lcatin f gas, pwer, telephne and cable lines befre digging. Applicatins will be reviewed initially by the RAC at its regularly scheduled public meetings. Applicants are urged t attend the sessin at which their prpsals are scheduled fr review. The RAC s recmmendatin fr apprval/disapprval is then sent t the Drsey s Search Architectural Review Cmmittee (ARC) fr final actin. Written ntice f the decisin is then sent t the applicant. The prcess usually takes 2-4 weeks. Apprved alteratins must be cmpleted within 180 days f the Cmmittee s apprval. Extenuating circumstances shuld be included in the applicatin and brught t the attentin f the Cvenant Advisr and RAC.
